Shift knobs anyone?

Installed the raceseng nitro as inspired by @tallboi.

Unfortunately, my collar was not of the “just pull down hard” variety, so I had to pull off the shifter console, which isn’t a huge deal. I cracked the bottom ring of the collar prying it off but I don’t think it matters. The real fun came when I dropped the raceseng adapter down into the bowels of the center console, kind of under the cup holders where you can’t easily reach. A scope camera let me figure out where it was and I pulled it out up from underneath the side of the console, so I fortunately didn’t have to remove the entire center tunnel, at which point I’d have explored doing the rear vents and usb.

All back together now, and, in theory, a pretty straightforward install. I like the feel of it in my hand, that’s what she said, and I like that it doesn’t clash with the rest of the interior aesthetic. Even the shift pattern font generally matches the “Type S” font on the shifter console and elsewhere.

I reinstalled the shift collar, as it is necessary to keep the boot up and nice looking, but I don’t know the best way to keep it “up”. It used to clip onto the old shifter‘s “stop nut” or whatever you’d call it, but that’s not the case anymore. For now I’ve got a couple of my daughter’s hair ties on the stick creating internal tension inside it to stay in place, but there’s probably a better way.
A zip tie ? That’s how my acuity kept the collar on internally.

Can anyone advise on removing the clip from under the console cover? I can remove the 2 plugs, but there is a clip between them holding the wiring harness to the cover that I couldn't immediately figure out where to release, and I didn't want to break the clip, so I stopped, but it'd be a lot easier to be able to remove.the cover entirely at some points. With the clip still attached there is minimal slack or room to maneuver in there. Where is the release point on that clip?

No one else here with a Billetworkz Fusion Shift Knob? This thing is HEAVY, somewhere around 460 grams or a full pound. Curious to hear from those that have installed a knob this heavy as to shifter feel, etc?

I have just installed the Mugen Alcantara version. It looks more stock oem. The height is shorter. But there are not much different when engaging gear. Its weight lighter than stock. So far no regret because of the style.

Love this , it’s a nice match . I been veering away from Alcantara shift knob as I have the steering wheel and even with clean hands it gets dirty pretty quick . I find myself cleaning it allot .

I've had at least a dozen knobs made by them the last 14yrs for Subarus/Fords/Toyotas and now the ITS.

He has tons of shapes/materials. Everything is made to order, work quality is exceptional.

Highly recommended.

Did you get the "threads not countersunk" option - same as Fk8? I'm looking at getting a WC knob and wanna make sure I get the right one. I assume the Fk8 option would fit our car too.
