Many years ago Michelin put out language on this topic that tires with more aggressive compounds should not be used in tempuratutes "at or near freezing". I believe that language is no longer used by Michelin. The general rule of thumb is tempuratures below 40°F.Thanks, Superman, for the info. I do have a lifted Jeep Wrangler just in case of an apocalypse like the Walking Dead since we live in the DC area.
Under what temperature would you not take it out? Below 40?
PS: I spoke with the dealer. They will charge for a brand new set of winter tires. So I will just keep the OEM ones and get a set of winter tires later.
All-Seasons are a master of nothing. If you’re going to purchase a separate set of wheels, do one set with a dedicated set of winter tires and one set with a dedicated set of summer tires.
Thanks!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!!Many years ago Michelin put out language on this topic that tires with more aggressive compounds should not be used in tempuratutes "at or near freezing". What would you recommend for the winter tires? FYI, I will not be driving this baby in a wintry or snowy condition.All-Seasons are a master of nothing. I will keep that in mind. Thanks!!!Many years ago Michelin put out language on this topic that tires with more aggressive compounds should not be used in tempuratutes "at or near freezing". I believe that language is no longer used by Michelin. The general rule of thumb is tempuratures below 40°F.
Thanks for your info!!! Have a wonderful evening!!!If having dedicated winter tires aren't for you, do some research into "all weather" tires. They are a different category of tire than "all season" and are designed to work in a wider range of conditions. They won't be as good as a dedicated set of winters if conditions are extremely poor, but they'll be much better all-around in different temperatures (warm and cold) and may split the difference if temperatures fluctuate outside of the optimal range for your summers.

They are planning to derail the car this morning. The dealer is Chevy Chase Acura and they have their own detail services called Bethesda Dealers. https://www.chevychaseacura.com/bethesda-detailersCongrats...idk if I would let the dealer ceramic coat my car, unless they use a off site detailer with off the chart ratings...jmho
