Hi everyone...its coming to the end of "car season" in the Chicagoland area. I have had many cars that I put away for the winter and I always use a battery tender.

Does anyone have pics/instructions/suggestions on where/how you actually made the connection to the battery?

Thanks for any help.

When I had my GT350, there was like 3 ways to hook up the tender. Sometimes....there are tricks/tips from people that have done it already....

When I buy the charger, it comes with a small wires with a plug on one end and terminals on the other. Connect the terminals to the battery post, and leave the wire there all the time. Then, when I need to connect the charger, I connect it to the connector, and after in an outlet. Simple as that.

I'll grab some pics this weekend. Basically I attached the ground clamp to the other side of the wire, and both on the side so that I could lower the hood easily.

I also plug it in for 12 hours about once every two weeks. Yes I know the battery tender is safe for 24/7/365 use, however I'm a belt and suspenders type of guy.

Also ordered a Car bag since my wife parks her winter driven car 2 feet from it.

I did 6000 spirited miles this season and I intend to keep this car (if possible) until the second half of this century. Living in the rust belt and driving in the winter simply would not allow that to happen no matter how well you try and maintain it.

Clamp it to the battery terminals?

This is the second thread about storage already. It's just like storing away a Camry TRD.
No kidding. It's a Civic.

For my Miata I just yank the battery, put it on my work bench, connect the battery tender and come back in the spring to get it. Doesn’t make a difference, I just prefer having the electronics depowered for the winter.
