Hi,

What is the proper offset sizing in an 18" wheel to clear the brakes? Some affordable recommendations?

Have you tried tirerack to see their options? Apex wheels sells some in specific fitment.

There's a variety of offsets that will fit, but it all depends on spoke shape. You can use willtheyfit.com to get a quick idea about general poke and inset sizing with the offset changes.

The Apex EC-7 is made in 18X9.5 with an offset option of 58, which is about a perfect match for the OE offset specification. It's on backorder now, but if you call, they might have an update on anticipated delivery.

I mounted 18"x9.5 Enkei T6R's +45 offset for my winter set-up. They sit close to flush and I haven't noticed any negative handling issues due to the offset.

Thanks, very helpful as this is a wheel I was looking at on Tirerack. What tires did you go with?

We have this wheel in stock if interested.

Tire I'm assuming a 265/35/18 for winter?

I went with Conti DWS 06 Plus tires- 265/35 18". I've used the DWS 06 in the past and really like them. They're not a true snow tire, but a great all season high performance tire that will handle a bit of snow. I like the Enkei's and wouldn't hesitate to run this set-up year round if I didn't have the OEM wheels and tires ready to go once the weather allows.

Here's the ec7 with the vredstein wintrac pro in 255/40/18. I love the vreds. They handle like a summer tire with plenty of oversteer, even in a few i ches of snow. I drove it this year on unplowed roads with a fresh 6" of powder and it was a blast. More than that and you have to wait for the plows. The added height was absolutely crucial through some potholes and when the plows build up ice and snow in areas. I can't even imagine how the low boys do it in winter climates.

Side note, El cheapo Amazon lug nuts seem to be holding up well through the grungy season and they have no rust on them!

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 235/40ZR18 all seasonal 18" tires on Drag DR-67 18x8 5-120 40 Flat Black wheels on a 2024 Blue Type-S. I am using black Gorilla 14-1.50 spline lug nuts as the lug nut holes are not wide enough for wider lug nuts. I also used factory TPMS sensors. I have replaced the Costco green valve stem covers with black ones.

I went with all season tires as we do not see a lot of snow in Columbus. And we did have snow this year, the tires did their job, just had to go slow on a couple drives. I think if I lived further north east (east side of Cleveland or toward Erie / Buffalo) I would have definitely purchased winter tires instead of all season tires. I can now treat these as spare tires.

No tire road noise with these, they are quieter than the factory Michelin PS 4S's.

Wow looks good! The Acura center caps fit in the wheels perfectly! I think Apex makes the OEM Type-S 19" wheel. I just looked up the wheel, it weighs 18.6 lbs too!
Apex doesn't make the OEM wheel. Enkei does. Apex stuff fits nicely on our cars though.
