Out of curiosity, what is your opinion on the stock shift knob with the HR shifter?

I like the OEM shift knob and it works well with the Hybrid Racing shifter. I’m thinking about the Mugen black weighted shift knob with alcantara & red stitch just to change it up once in a while.

Putting the Type-S away for the winter 🫤, but I’m starting to stockpile parts for winter projects.

Picked up the PRL HVI intake system from Two-Step Performance with their Black Friday sale. Going to finish the blacked-out look with the gloss black Type-S badges.

Lastly, I’m working with a company in the UK to custom make me some Recaro CS seats. Going to design them as an OEM+ look with some red leather, black alcantara and red stitching. They’ll retain the OEM heated functionality but lose the electronic adjustability.

I’m pretty excited for these seats. I initially was having them made for my 23 MK8 GTi 40th anniversary, but when I saw how mediocre the stock seats were in the Type-S, I decided to switch it up.

They’re sending me some leather samples this week and once I choose my materials, production should begin fairly quickly.

Cool. I’m also looking forward to what seat brackets you use to mount them. I would like to find a way to get my bucket seats in the car just not sure if we have hardware readily available.

I’ll most likely be using the PCI adjustable seat mounting brackets.




Picked up the Mugen alcantara with red stitch shift knob this afternoon. Matches perfectly with the OEM suede steering wheel and Overland Designs center counsel piece. Really nice feel with this knob mated to the Hybrid racing shifter. I’m going for that GT3RS interior feel

I’m going to have that red piece in front of the passenger reupholstered in suede with red stitch along with the armrest as well.

I purchased two of these shift knobs because I’ll be giving one away when I post up my Black Friday sale.

do you know if PCI has any slider mounts that actually fit our cars? Would the 2022+ civic seat mount work?

The Type-S is currently hibernating at my buddy’s shop. I’m having the following done;

- Paint Correction
- Roof and side mirrors wrapped in Xpel gloss black PPF
- Hood, fenders and front bumper wrapped with clear Xpel PPF
- Ceramic coating

My Recaro CS seats have finally entered production. I did this render to show the builder what I’m envisioning. Keeping in step with the OEM seats, they’ll have black Alcantara middle sections with the side bolsters, head rest and back of the seats being red leather.

I’m having Type-S embossed into the headrest and Recaro laser etched in the middle. These will utilize the OEM heating function as well. Thinking I’ll have them by late spring.

Back into hibernation mode until late April or May. Had the car paint corrected, roof and mirrors wrapped with gloss black PPF, the hood, fenders & front bumper wrapped with clear Xpel PPF and finally the entire vehicle ceramic coated.

Come spring, I’ll be installing the gloss black Type-S badges, PRL intake and installing the custom Recaro seats.

Picked up a new 2024 VW Golf R, so I’ve been tweaking that as of lately. Little bastard gets down!
