Hey Guys, Im getting my ECU unlocked and sent to Phearble for Stage tune 2 this weekend.
Was looking for Opions on what bolt ons I should add.
I currently only have PRL HVI installed..

My car will never be track driven only for street , dsaily driver, back country twistys..

Im looking at buying The TSP High flow DP, but my concern is ican only find a raw finish one, would this be fine, or would I have heat issues..

So currently looking at adding ...

TSP down Pipe,
PRL Front Pipe
PRL Turbo charger Titanium Inlet kit...

Would a Intercooler upgrade be worth it, for just street driving?>
Any opionions would be appreciated!!1

You can make plenty of power without an intercooler, according to Hondata. Downpipe and intake is all you need to have a great time! Just my thoughts.

For your use case, not sure bolt ons make much sense. Your greatest gain will be from the tune by far. Tune the car stock and go from there. The finished product will likely be more power than you will need in a FWD, 3,200 lb. sedan on the street.

Probably a good idea... seems most of the intercoolers harm coolant temps more than they help IATs or flow, anyway.

Thanks , that’s mostly what I was thinking..

But everyone always say get the downpipe..
Just not sure if it would be that noticable?

I think DP is the most impactful bolt on mod, probably by far. Take a look at JesterTuned's thread.

I see absolutely zero need for an intercooler on this platform, unless your sole use case is drag racing and you're going for 350+ horsepower. There has been enough evidence at this point that basically incriminates aftermarket intercoolers in all sorts of overheating issues for track use. The consensus is that bar-and-plate type intercoolers restrict airflow that has to reach the radiator right behind it. I understand track use is not in the cards for the OP (although it should be for anyone who has this car but I digress), but it just seems like a superfluous mod.

Personally, I plan on doing bolt-ons for pretty much no other reason than noise. I think the car is too quiet from the factory, so an intake and exhaust are in the plans. If it gives me a noticeable power boost so be it, but I agree with others in this thread that too much power and you're basically limiting yourself to just straight-line use cases, which IMHO misses the plot of what this car is about (not to mention there are much better options for that use case anyway). Intake and exhaust are straightforward installs, and don't require a tune. Works for me.

But if I were to go down the tuning rabbit hole, a downpipe would probably be in the cards because it does appear to be the most restrictive OEM part and thus yields the highest gains. Will probably enhance the sound too, but honestly I can't tell the difference once an aftermarket exhaust goes on.

TSP is the only option for DP IMO because they use a better cat than anyone else and won't throw a CEL. That cerakote stuff won't do shit for heat, it's too thin for that. It's only going to help prevent corrosion. Personally I went without because it would have covered the EPA markings on the cat. If anyone gives me any grief over emissions I can at least point that part out.

I've done a PRL intake and have a TSP downpipe on order. Been driving on the Hondata basemap for a few weeks and while the power bump was nice, the tune felt a little dirty. Worked with @JesterTuned yesterday and my goodness does this car move effortlessly now. Power comes on so smooth and clean and even the shifting is better. I have no idea what HP numbers are now and honestly don't care. All I know is that I am not interested in more power than what I currently have. I'll install the downpipe in spring and I figure way down the road if my stock intercooler gets visibly beat up from debris I'll go ahead and do a PRL with some charge pipes.

I can't speak highly enough about @JesterTuned. His tune is incredible and only surpassed by his patience and desire to please.

I decided to go with the TSP downPipe and PRL Inlet pipe , along with the HVI I already have installed..

Looking forward to seeing how fun this is once I have it all tuned!
