I went for a several hour long drive today in my 2023 Integra Aspec with 6 speed stick. I was about 30 minutes into the drive when I realized I was not getting any heat. The air blowers are working fine, whether set to defrost the front windshield, or set to direct air at both chest-level and feet-level, or set to only send air to my feet. And each of the two legs of my trip today were over 3 hours of highway driving, and the engine was working fine, so I am sure the eingine was producing enough heat.

Can anyone suggest anything I should look at to troubleshoot this?

Seems odd since the blower is working and you're able direct the airflow. Perhaps it's s sensor that is preventing coolant flow through the heat exchanger. Thankfully it's a warranty repair, especially since it's not cracking 20 deg F in NJ today.

You probably tried it over the course of the trip, but did try cycling the ignition on and off to see if that made a difference?

Yes - I actually had 3 legs to the trip yesterday - 1st and 3rd legs were each over 3 hours. And the problem is still there this morning, for two short trips today.

Sure seems like something is keeping coolant from traveling through the heat exchanger.
Hopefully it's an easy fix once you get it to the dealer.

Isn't this the role of the thermostat?

Similar, but different. The thermostat controls the coolant flow to the radiator. When the thermostat is closed, coolant is circulated around the engine's water jacket and bypasses the radiator, allowing the engine to reach operating temps more quickly. Once the engine is up to temp, the thermostat begins to open and coolant circulates through the radiator, helping to keep the engine at the correct temp.

The heat exchanger (also called heater core) is like a mini radiator that is buried in the dash. When you turn on your heater, coolant flows through the exchanger and a fan blows across it producing warm air.

It's possible that the thermostat is stuck open so the engine is not truly getting up to temperature in this cold weather, but I think if this is the scenario, the OP would be getting some heat into the cabin, but not as much as he would want.

Try to turn of ā€˜ACā€™ if not doing auto-climate. Mine does similar until I hit that and then the hot air starts pumping

I wish the AC didnt turn on when you just want fan. Dumb question, but did you press AC again to turn it off after turning the fan on?

My '24 ITS will be fully warmed up, but heat won't come through the vents until I drive a street or two.

But even when I'm stopping at a red-light for 30 seconds it goes right back to frigid air. AC is off, and I only started having this issue once it got cold (Upstate, NY). It's been in the teens the last few days and becoming a serious issue.

My local dealer wants to charge me $180 to bring it in and check it....that's wild. Car is 4 months old.

You shouldnā€™t be charged any fee at all, it would all fall under warranty and be free of charge unless you were the cause of something or your car is salvaged.

I'm thinking it's just because I scheduled tonight after they closed and it was through AcuraLink. General heat issues have the flat fee associated with it.

But I'm also nervous because they refused to replace the carbon fiber spoiler that has the same deteriorating spot as many others on here. Claiming I must've scraped it on something.

This heat issue seems more cut and dry but I'm not holding my breath either. Car is not salvaged or ever been in any accident.

They should take care of you under warranty because that is really strange and definately not supposed to happen. Sounds like something may be amiss. If they donā€™t you could always complain to Honda corporate and find a new dealer who would take the warranty work. Iā€™m curious what it could be

Had my CF spoiler replaced about a year ago for that issue. When I took it in I mentioned it the service advisor and he already knew what I was talking about. They just had to send pictures for warranty approval and they replaced it for me. Itā€™s been a year now with the new one and no issue with this one (last one I had that deteriorated was on for like 8 months before it showed signs of primer paint from underneath).
