Door led connector

While I had my door panel off today, and the harnesses unplugged, I closed the door and broke the connector head from the harness for the led door light.

Does anyone know where I can source one of these plastic heads? I looked at replacing the whole harness, but that's going to take ripping apart the entire car since they didn't use a clip in the door for the whole harness.

How many pins in the connector and are they beefy or dainty? Any pics?
Two pins. Long, thin, white connector. I wish I had a Pic, but it's literally in a bunch of pieces in the trash.

It's the one that slides into the upper door led, the one people often swap for red out of the tlx or type r.

Worst case I guess I can buy the whole 90$ harness to just use the pin. I just hate that kind of needless waste.

Also... It broke with almost no force. It's not like I slammed the door. I just gently pushed it from the last swing angle and it closed under its own weight. Didn't even totally latch, but that connector blew up into at least 20 pieces 😑

If you can de-pin the broken connector (may have already happened when it broke) you can try to ID the connector type and buy a new body to slide the pins back into. I've had good luck sourcing stuff like that from DigiKey. It may only cost cents for the part but you'll likely spend dollars on shipping. Still saves the day though. The trick is being able to ID the connector type. It may be used on other components in the car as well (and you can look at the intact one on the other door for guidance).

But heck, with only two pins, you can also hack it and there are many ways to accomplish that. I'd probably cut the wire about 8" from the end, and put any suitable male/female connector pair there. Then take the bare pins from the broken connector (which is now attached to an 8" pigtail), slide them onto the corresponding pins in the LED light and fasten in place with tape/ziptie/etc. Or hardwire into the light directly. Extra wire may need to be added for slack.

I have to replace a lot of connectors on older collector cars when age makes them conduct poorly, and there are many ways to handle this when the original connectors are NLA. In many cases a connector can be bypassed and hardwired.

Yeah the door jamb depinned it for me, lol. I do not kid when I say that connector EXPLODED into a bunch of pieces. The pins are still totally fine and in tact.

Yes, I'm just trying to find the connector, but it's a tough one to id since it's always part of the harness and doesn't have its own part number.

I'll check out digikey! Thanks for the reference!
