I have read a lot of his posts. Aside from the personal shaming the thread is doing here, a lot of the things he writes are factually correct. I didn't like the thread he posted those pics and then wrote "it drives fine". But, maybe it was done for likes and attention. Not unlike what a lot of companies are doing nowadays. I personally think 4 Type Rs is too much, but he may see it as investment. Who knows really? We shouldn't judge.
Totally understand but I think when you approach a post in a group with a mindset of earning likes and subs then it becomes very self-serving. And no one really likes that.

I agree he has a skill for rubbing alot of people the wrong way. I don't understand why he is like that, I feel like he could be very useful to the group but instead its more of a pain to have him around.
Yup, it’s a shame that he doesn’t act more… likeable online in those groups as he does seem somewhat knowledgeable with a wealth of buying and car experiences. If he hasn’t learned to be humble and less abrasive by now and realize why he’s so disliked in those groups, then he’ll never learn.

I drove a friends FL5 this weekend back to back with a new 2023 civic si, I can confidently say the handling on the type r on backroads was immense. Great driving car not although the clutch, as with modern cars, is lackluster. It still definitely makes me excited for my type S. Also me being a taller guy the fl5 seats were quite constricting for an everyday type use, they are fantastic on backroad curves going 60 mph around curves tho. The Types S is going to be a great car despite the sacrifices in options we might have to make ie. sunroof, HUD Etcc.

From the Type-S press release it does mention that there is a HUD standard. But I understand the point you make with sacrificing some extra options we may have thought should have been on the car for the price point.

What makes a clutch "lackluster"?

How’s the power delivery on the FL5? Does the engine and turbo build power through the RPM’s (similar to the Si / A-Spec Tech) or is all the power delivered down low and tapper off in the upper RPM’s?

Smaller turbo spools faster

The FL5 pulls strong all the way through the rev range, not much lag either (source: I've watched every YouTube video on this car).

I’m sure it pulls strong. It should. But, how does it feel while running it through the RPM’s?

I’m more concerned with the characteristics and dynamics of the power delivery than the power itself.

Basically, I’m hoping it’s an engaging engine and not boring to drive like so many low-end torque focused FI engines.

Power delivery is said to be pretty linear, it's going to be much more similar to an NA engine than the turbo cars of old. But you'll have to drive one for yourself to really get a feel, everyone says the powerband is nice though.

Id say you need a test drive in the demo that your dealership will have soon.. Give it the beans and report back your thoughts.

Just make sure the car wasn't already bought by someone on this forum :) Hence why it would terrify me to buy one of the demos... Watching people dyno their cars with 12 miles on the OD makes me scratch my head... I know new motors are built to better tolerances so maybe I am just old school.

Speaking of old school, don't go into a test drive pining for the frantic Honda N/A VTEC engines of the past, this is very different. You will appreciate the flat torque curve around town, but will likely miss the banshee ringing it out of the old cars. At least I still do. But take comfort in knowing it's much faster!

Mike- check out "Nordschleife Type R" channel on youtube. Some of the most exciting 8 min videos of a random dude and his passenger challenging superior vehicles on the Nurburgring. The only mod he's done are semi-slick tires. He challenges a Cayman and does really well, among other cars like the M5, Megane, M2 etc etc. You won't be disappointed, I've watched all his videos several times lol.

My question isn’t about speed and power. I know the CTR is quick on the track. I’m just hoping the K20C1 has character and is engaging and fun to drive and run through the RPM’s unlike most of the modern 4 cylinder turbocharged engines which are heavy on low end torque and don’t have any life in the upper RPM’s.

I’m wondering if the ITS/CTR have similar engine dynamics like the Si and A-spec Tech which like to rev and are engaging in the upper RPM’s.

I haven’t driven the CTR (or the ITS ;)) so I can’t compare….

K20 revs higher and has less rev hang then the 1.5T
