I know sometimes the CAD can be looked at as being a tad weak but those numbers are all over the place :)

Every 2y break fluid flush is a standard recommendation at so many places now (germans have done that in their guides for years, others picked up).

Curious about the labor on the cabin filters there, those be BMW prices for fiters. I have not looked up that job yet, is it a 15m DIY or is it a real PITA to get to? Even at $40 a filter thats a lot of labor.

For brakes, I always ask when I see a quote: what is the measurement of the pads and rotors.

Usually I don't get an answer, meaning they are well within spec, especially the rotors.

I suspect that price is just pads BTW as a OEM rotor is not going to be el cheapo steel you may see at Rockauto or similar.

Brake rotors *rarely* need to be actually changed, they do not warp, but rather can have pad deposits that if you give its a few hundreths turn on a rotor go away nicely when a proper re-bedding doesn't do the trick itself with heat.

Food for thought.

I've been told the brake service they "recommend" doing where they'll readjust the pins on the calipers, blah blah blah, so this isn't for the pads. Yea the cabin filter pricing is insane I think. I'm just curious if these are as regular as they say it is.

Any able bodied human can easily change the cabin filter themselves.
Unless you've been beating the heck out of your brakes all you should need is a brake fluid flush, fill and bleed. My maintenence minder for brake fluid came on at 30k miles/ 2 yrs and I am light on the brakes with proper down shifting and coasting. I plan to have that service done by 40k miles.

I'm only at 15000 miles and almost a year so I shouldn't need it yet; good to know.

Stealarships, I mean Dealarships, make the majority of their revenue not from selling automobiles but from servicing them. And it ain't cheap to keep the lights on in those palaces so the prices will reflect that.

$220 for a cabin filter is insane. Get some knock-offs from amazon and you can have a fresh filter every month for less than that. It's so simple a child could swap it.
