A-spec Tech MT here - looking for a mild boost in acceleration, e.g. 0-60 in < 7 sec, but don't want to replace the clutch. What tune is recommended?

Iā€™d suggest hitting up @D-RobIMW regarding tuning questions like that. Heā€™s done a ton for many of us on here.

I recently changed the fluid at 15k miles , I used amsoil cvt syn fluid ā€¦ no difference in feel whatsoever but I have Piece of mind knowing Iā€™m using something good. My 2
Previous S2k have all had amsoil and even now my corvette is using amsoil, either Iā€™m a fan boy or Iā€™ve trusted it because both my S2000 took track abuse on engine trans and diff and no issue , so I thought Iā€™d try it for Cvt fluid . One thing I recommend with Cvt and if you plan to beat on it , just get a trans cooler, Iā€™ve seen temps drop 10+ degrees from that only and Iā€™m constantly switching from map 1 to map 3
Definitely still looking into the cvt cooler idea we had talked about and will def be doing so before tuning, thats for sure.

Just got my Ktuner V2 in today. I have a 2023 Aspec manual and only performance mod is Remark exhaust. Never had tuned a car myself and was so nervous but watched a lot of YouTube tutorials and it was actually super easy if you take your time and donā€™t rush.

Iā€™m still waiting for phearable to email me their tune. (Got it free for buying Ktuner ) on their website

right now Iā€™m running stage 2 Ktuner own tune. Sport mode Iā€™m at 21 psi and normal or comfort itā€™s at 18.5

drove about 1.5 hrs today running errands. 40% freeway, 60%. City. WOW. Throttle response is the most easily noticeable Change and I love it. Drives like a new car.

around 2500rpm and above it PULLS. Below that feels like stock. Gears 2-4, and even 5th gear pulls. I believe the dyno results when they said youā€™ll gain 50-69 lb ft torque

definitely the best ā€œbang for the buckā€ mod ever. Honestly feels like a new car like most people have said

I canā€™t wait to get the phearable tune and upload it to the car. Iā€™ve heard the difference between the base Ktuner tune and phearable is pretty amazing too

Base tunes are decent. John Vega's (Phearable) off the shelf tune is much smoother and more potent up top.

Nice. I just got the Phearable 1.5 Race tune emailed to me. Canā€™t wait to flash the ECU after work.

Would you be able to repost this in the format that gtman uses for consistency?

It just helps other users know what to look for at a glance, otherwise people might scroll passed your post, which is already super helpful! I'm more keen on tuning my Integra after reading this.

@pho69 ...

You'll notice the way John designs his tune is that it will feel more linear from top to bottom. Throttle response may feel a bit less "twitchy" but man, put your foot into it and you'll think there's a V6 under the hood.

100% this. I can't include his car in the stats the way he posted that and it doesn't help the community.

Total tuned time: 2 days!

Tuned miles driven: 150 miles

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner V2

Tunes used: Starter 21 in sport, 18.5 in normal. About to install phearable Race tune

Fuel used: 93 octane

Additional related mods: Remark catback exhaust

Problems/issues:
None

Driving style: quick burst on freeway on ramp or when passing other cars but otherwise spirited but not stupid driving

Tuning experience notes: first time tuning a car myself. A lot of initial anxiety but if you do your homework and how to videos itā€™s actually super straight forward. Like others said BEST bang for the buck. Makes the car feel like a whole different car! Will update more soon

Thanks for adding your car.

Side note: For updates, it's better to add a new post to show more tuned miles driven, tune or mod changes etc...

Otherwise if you go in and edit your original post, some of the info is overwritten and lost. This is the way I've been doing it for years at the other forums I do these tuning studies at and it works well.

welcome. And thanks for the heads up. I was about to just edit my original post.

Also, Keep up the good work. I was worried about reliability with a tune but read all the data you collected and it convinced me a tune was very safe

Total tuned time: 1 Year

Tuned miles driven: 20k miles - Sold

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner V2.0

Tunes used: Phearable 1.5R

Fuel used: 93 octane

Additional related mods: Stock

Problems/issues: None

Driving style:A little fun on the back roads and some higher speed runs

Tuning experience notes: Noticed the rev hang disable feature. Seems my shifting on lower gears is smoother since I don't usually wait for revs to fall.
Ran great for 20k miles

Here's how I sum it up over and my long term CivicX tuning reliability thread:

There's no doubt that a tune is the single best power-based performance mod but it does add additional stress. Reliability can be compromised if you tune for ultimate power (on stock internals) or abuse or neglect your ride. And while the jury is still out on long term 10th gen tuning reliability, proper maintenance and common sense on the road will help minimize issues.
Which is my way of saying if you don't drive like a maniac and you maintain your car properly, tuning has proven to be quite safe overall.
