"Type S" badge on front grille

Anyone know if the type S badge is easily removable without taking off the bumper? Or know if it's just adhesive and you can push/pull out?

Two screws from behind. Dremel it off if you don't care.

My type s emblem did not have screws, only the front A did. It also did not have threads so I doubt the screws were missed. There are 2 posts that slide into 2 holes behind emblem onto the plate so you cannot use the traditional method of using fishing line all the way thru. I hit it with the fishing line on each side, then in the middle I vary carefully prayed it loose. Good luck.

Mine is not adhesive. Mine has backing and some plastic screw type things. You could easily just grab a pair of dikes or a dremel and just zip it off with the bumper still on.

Yep putting on the new one just requires you to remove the adhesive backing and matching up the 2 posts on the new emblem into the 2 holes on the backing plate. Btw the backing plate has 2 screws holding it in place behind the grill, but the actual emblem does not. It’s not one gigantic piece, it’s 2 separate things. I just replaced all the chrome ones with the blacked out ones myself about 2 months ago so I’m sure my descriptions are accurate.

Based on the op I assumed they were wanting to just debadge, but that sounds right about the black badge just pressing on.

Confirming that there are no screws for the "Type S'" badge, just locating pins. A little heat and gentle prying will take the badge off.

One small correction. The black emblems don’t have the 2 posts. There wasn’t a specific “front badge”. I remember simply eyeballing it, and making sure it was centered with the back plate.

Like others have said, if it's just the badge, it's fishing wire that will get it off like all the others. If you want to also get the badge holder off, I've seen the potential to use a flexible tool to get behind and unscrew it with the bumper still on but it was pretty complicated, you need a lot of patience and can't have big meaty claws. Most just destroy it off.

On my side I've been debating taking it off, I've already debadged the three on the body. Swapping to a black badge would be pretty stealth but it's impossible to find a place that sells them individually.

For now I live with it on there. Let us know if you manage.
