Also on the intake tube looks great makes better noises but haven't heard anything on performance
checkin with DRob a professional tuner. The stock intake is already so good and there’s no compelling evidence it inhibits airflow. It may not be the most cost effective mod unless you get into the higher HP range with a combination of other mods as well. So at this point it’s mainly for looks and sounds to upgrade

That makes sense . A lateral move but looking and sounding better .. I do see a vid that reduces heat which is always a good thing too

I've looked on PRl and can't find for type s or do we just order things for the type r
FL5 and DE5 powertrain parts are interchangeable for the most part with the exception of front pipe back exhaust. Install might be slightly different (intercooler) but otherwise you should be looking for FL5 parts as many won't advertise it as DE5.

PRL still doesn't have the HVI out yet and their intake tube is for stock airbox only, assume you will need to purchase an adapter later when the HVI finally comes out. Otherwise you have the options above, or a drop in filter (PRL/Sprint), or one of the "hot" intakes Pipercross or Ramair.

Again, as noted above, don't expect much difference unless you are pushing over 400whp and even then it might be minimal. Best bet IMO is the Sprint drop in, you will get more sound, easy swap and inexpensive until you actually need an intake. Or just get one one of the hot intakes if you want the sound and don't care about colder IATs.

Yeah I saw a vid on the drop in filter and the sounds sounds great and pairing that will be even more great

Nice might be worth waiting for
I personally like this one without the foam filter as I heard it on someone's car and thought it sounded great https://www.dream-automotive.com/pr...-r-fl5-2-0t-k20c1-2023?variant=40262853820496 , however they did complain of some heat soak so I am holding off to see the prl , I may go with either as I don't really track my car much at all and the heat soak I most likely wont notice. I'd love the gruppe m intake but they are so pricey for just a intake.

I have a drop in and it sounds really good.
Careful, the safety squad is going to tell you those drop ins don't filter anything and let mice in your engine.

I question taking it out every time I drive and I cancelled my car’s trip to the Sahara desert.

No, I understand it is less restrictive; and thus, more shit comes in. However, my car is sitting in the garage bc I didn’t get winter tires on the other set of rims. In regards to mice, I’m an expert on that as I’m in a battle to keep them out of my 04 RSX Type-S. I spray every month with peppermint oil and bought these ultrasonic things that I put underneath the sub in the trunk and in the engine bay. Mice keep getting into the car and it’s scary as fuck.

But that's part of the performance boost. I trained my mice to add a little lift to the valves for more top end under VTEC. Cheaper than cams. Just don't get on it to much or your MPG (Miles per Gruyere) goes to crap.

Jokes aside, I was amazed what a difference the drop in made for sound. It isn't going to sound like a cone or an open element cone but it is enough of a difference to tide me over till the real deals are available.
