looks like it works, only issue was the suspension dampening controls which our cars have. Was hoping he flick that bad boy to the R cluster.
Sounds like he's waiting for the type R wheel to come in so he can actually change the settings. Not sure if he'll be able to access the different gauge clusters from the wheel though...

Either way, this gives me hope that there's a path to getting the +R gauges in an ITS eventually. I asked Jonathan Rivers in a comment on one of his videos yesterday if it was a possibility we'd see anything similar on the ITS and he wouldn't give me anything lol

I doubt it. Maybe I'm just a skeptic, but...

Honda went out of their way to make the Type-R gauge cluster special. Beyond the tach, there's the render of the car with working blinkers, brake lights, matching paint, etc. Similar to the Type-R nameplate, my guess is that they were very hesitant to allow Acura to "tread" on the Honda product, and this was an area where they intentionally limited the Type-S design to favor the Type-R.

Personally, I think this approach is foolish, but it certainly feels like they've taken it with their smaller sister company for approx. 2 decades now, and it's crushed most Acura products from ~06-ish onward. The fact this car exists is a shock if you look at normal Honda v Acura operating procedure, even more so when you consider the Type-S exhaust and tune.

Frankly, I think the Type-S gauge cluster was half-assed (and it's actually one of very few things with the car where I think they dropped the ball). Yellow needles alone aren't special; they're the definition of a minimal effort change. They could have given us something different from the Type-R that still clearly delineated the Type-S tach from the one on the standard Integra and even the one on the standard Civic, but they didn't; it's essentially a recolor.

The saving grace here is that, with the heads-up display, I actually hardly ever look at the dash while driving. I shift based on engine tone, and my speed (and GPS, etc.) shows on the windshield, which is better for usability / drivability than the dash anyway. As a result, I'm less bothered by this than I think I should be.

I agree they dropped the ball on the gauges but no reason for me not to stay hopeful that somebody will figure out a way eventually :) if not, it's no big deal. The gauges and the seats are the only things I would ever want to change about this car. Well...besides a coupe version :p

Absolutely agree, the FL5 cluster doesnt really provide any additional functionality, everything is kind of just "nice to have", I also shift by ear and LOVE the HUD.

The S2K style gauge is awesome, im guessin Honda reserved it's use for the FL5 given that the S2K was a "Honda" product, and Acura was probably tasked with finding their own iconic vehicle to source their own gauge ergo "ITR" (at least in North America).

I'd rather they port over something similar to LogR for ITS owners.
It would be, at the very least, nice to have some sort of oil temp gauge.
