@ bpebler, You're like Arby's.
I had to really think about what you meant. Probably bc I haven’t had Arby’s in a long time. But I remember James Earl Jones voice now! 🤣 It’s beefy enough to where I had a harder time getting the pop-pins and screws out of the fender well to remove the bumper again earlier. Haha Halfway done with the work so far. Hopefully will be buttoned up tonight or probably more likely lunchtime tomorrow.

@bigmikevegas I have some better side pics than that of the wheels now but I do still have to clean it up good and find a place with a better background than different areas of my hillbilly property. 😆 I really need to pave at least a portion of the secondary gravel driveway.

ha ha, you have the meats!

@optronix, I know the video you're talking about. I think his issue was 90% low tire pressure. I also think that he may have de-beaded the tire after a potentially catastrophic air loss. 265x30 is such a skinny sidewall. Also, the tire is slightly stretched on a 9.5 inch wide rim. I think the 275 x 30 tire on the Apex rims will be fine. 3mm more sidewall, plus less stretch with the 275 width. I think the tires will be able to give a bit more in cornering. The Continentals were tight as hell when they put them on. took over 100 psi to get them to seat. I will say I won't be trying to hold my tire pressure at 36 on the track. I'll let it go to 39 or 40 in the front just to be safe. with my driving style I think it will be fine.

The only downside to the 19's and a 275 set-up is there aren't a lot of non-michelin tire options.

If I wasn't lowered, I would happily run 275 x 35 tires. No room for that now.

Upside to 18's is 265 x 35 or even 275 x 35 is fine.

When I had my Stinger I was running 275 x 35 on 9.5 inch vossens and it was just the right amount of sidewall.

Following up, not really feeling the love from apex to be honest, was told I would be contacted Monday in regards to my issues, nobody has reached out or emailed me as of yet, kind of dissapointing.

Everybody else see the apex sale going on ?
I’m really thinking I want to go brush clear with black hardware. But maybe I’m crazy.. I’ve been doing black wheels now since like 2011 and feel like it’s time to make a change.. you know like 2pac used to say. I did a little photoshop.. could it be to blingy?

you planning on 18's or 19's? switching tire brands? I wouldn't get them knowing what I know now, unless I was prepared to switch tire brands. That being said, three of my oem tires were fine, but on one wheel, I couldn't get two different oem tires to work. Plan accordingly!

All that being said, I love the look of the wheels and how light they are.

silver wheels are classic. not too much bling IMO. I get wanting to move away from black rims. If I had a white, red, blue or black car, I would get the bronze color Apex offers.

Just to comment on the looks, I think brushed clear would look great on white like it does on your photoshop for sure. And it would be set apart from what we’ve seen so far.

Thanks. Yea I figure I go brush clear and I can keep the stock color badges. Yea idea is to run those Continental tires in the 275-30. Saw that look and like the bigger side wall look. I figure I’ll keeps the stock wheels all set up save for road trips since I’m sure brush clear gonna need some cleaning every 53 miles.
Or I keep it stock since car already looks pretty good on stock wheels…. Maybe I just need to add my Team Rain-X banner cross the wind screen like back in highschool. Lol bunch of dorks 🤪

You could always put it on for that good reminiscent joke and then take it off later. Make your wife and friends think it’s permanent at first or something. 😆 Would’ve been great for April 1st compared to all the lame jokes out there.

Now I have to wait till next April. 😝. Ha would feel like I would have to drive back to my home down if I put it on lol. Go park at the high school 🤪. And they only get 91 up there, So have to reflash the car I think once I get hondata.

yea but back on topic. Not being able to confirm a MPS4s can 💯 lock up to the apex wheels really has got me slow playing getting rims. But honestly if the apex wheel the stock wheels really do work alright for me. I don’t know. 🤷‍♂️

I think that’s a solid plan. Lol minus the reflashing, that would suck.

The tires have been fine for me, so it’s hard to say if it’s certain techs or equipment or a combination or what’s going on, but they are revising their knurled bead and sending some, or supposed to be, to @bigmikevegas. Maybe it will taken care of by the time you might order - couldn’t hurt to email them and see. I’ve been parking in the shop with a plug in heater just to make sure it doesn’t dip below 50° out of precaution. Lol overnight temps should finally start to be in the 40’s and 50’s consistently starting tomorrow.

Damn yea I don’t want to have to worry about rubber pressure that crazy. But if that’s the game I best get in. Yea still says 90 days out for long time now. So could be working on it feel like that’s a pretty important tire to have fit in the motor sport wheel game. Who knows.

Apex is replacing my brushed clear with anthracite wheels, they have the revised knurling to accommodate the Michelins, they are currently in rotation and for sale but they are out of stock for the 19x9.5 +45, service has been ok, they have a sale going on right now so they are pretty busy.

will update with pics when I get the new set on.
