I had a white camaro for a long time and I think that both are frustrating. The salt residue stands out way more on my Teggy, but the Camaro looked like instantly filthy after going past anything with a vague whiff of construction.

I think the only way you really mask dirtiness is with a mettalic-gray-adjacent color.

That was going to be my other choice this time around; or the lunar silver. This blue definately makes the salt and snow stand out thatā€™s for sure lol sheā€™s spotted in white as I type and she will be getting bi-daily rinses until spring. God bless touchless wash memberships

Itā€™s not you, itā€™s the car. Iā€™ve driven many manuals and this one is touchy, but I finally got it after just a few hundred miles. The newer Hondaā€™s have a higher engagement point so try depressing the clutch just 30% and slipping it as youā€™re easing into the throttle in third. U got this!

Imma give it a shot tomorrow! Thanks for the tip. That might be when I was able to get it buttery smooth is I was doing just that but not being entirely aware of the clutch pedal position.
Will this cause any long term excess wear on the clutch?

It shouldnā€™t cause enough excess wear that youā€™ll have to replace the clutch any sooner. I put on 100k miles on a lot of manual cars using this method (rev hang or not) and every time I trade in the car they ask ā€œwhen did you replace the clutch? Feels newā€. Slipping the clutch just helps drop the rpmā€™s smoother due to the rev hang.

Haha thatā€™s awesome! Nice compliment to hear at that time it sounds like. I havenā€™t gotten the chance to drive her today but will be headed out this afternoon and will give it a shot! Thanks for the tips mate! Already feeling more and more confident every day as I start to feel out and ā€˜learnā€™ this cars tranny. I love the feeling of power you get over the cvt. Cannot wait to get rid of the god awful tires though. I waited with my last car until it was reasonable to replace them due to wear but this set Iā€™m just replacing asap. Sound and drive terrible compared to the dws06+ I had replaced them with before.

I'm thinking about getting winter tires+wheels since I found a place that will store tires for $250/year.
Might replace my all-seasons as well as part of that. The more I drive this car the more I feel like the ride is actually worse than the Camaro, and I'm wondering how much of that has to do with the tires.

The dws06 are a great set of all season. I stepped up the tread width as well and it was night and day compared to the stock contis. This one tire choice is doo doo on Acuraā€™s part :/ I LOVED my new set. 2 were smoked in my wreck so didnā€™t bother to try and get the other two off the rear of it. Come summer Iā€™ll be swapping mine out for them again. Better road noise and all around traction

I'm still kinda' struggling with how much money I actually want to spend on this thing though. I love the look, it has some great features, and the hatch trunk is very useful. But the problem is that without a tune it's just kinda' slow, especially in the low end.

Yeah I feel you there. Most of the money I dumped into my last were oem+ or aesthetic mods; spacers (wheels in future) visors, lip, tint and interior parts, etc) a tune is likely as far as Iā€™ll go aside from the exhaust to get a new tone and cooler tips but thatā€™s about it. Maybe some shifter bushing and spring upgrades down the line?

Mine is a lease so that means no tune for me. I was thinking about maybe upgrading to an ITS in a year or two if they'll let me, but from what I'm reading the ITS still has power curve issues without a tune, so idk. Maybe I should just learn to be okay with it, lol.

lol and maybe the refresh of the ASpec tech will peak your interest. In financing so Iā€™m in it for the long haul. Planning on keeping her for as far as she can take me. Hopefully they bring back the manual so youā€™d be able to still get that too

Iā€™d do type-s if I had the cash but just canā€™t justify the price tag at this point in my life. Planning to get married Soon and get our place together too so it wouldnā€™t fit the budget. Hopefully the nameplate is still around in 10 years or so (and the manual trans!)

Have they announced the manual is going away? My 2025 is a 6MT.

Now I'm imagining them adding a Sport+ mode to the refresh that is just the Phearable Stage 1 tune, lol.
