The console trim panel:
83431-3S5-A21ZA

from Acura parts for less is 35.69 pre shipping. I've been thinking about ordering it and sending one in.

Anyone can share images of the overland design from "inside" (aka upside down) before installation? Interested to see how they handled the corners.

Too late! I did look at it. It's glued on there. Seems like they made a cut or two around the corners and overlaped the material just a bit. The good news is once installed the corners are nice and tight to the center console so they should hold up I would think.

Oh one thing: the glue kind of smells. Good idea to let it air out a bit before installing it.

I am thinking about using a different material for a DIY project.
I wanted to see if the material runs over the edges inside. The material is thin, but wanted to make sure that I can mount it back without issues.

Yes, you should be able to. The material is definitely wrapped fully around the edges and the trim piece still snaps in nice and tight with no gap.

Appreciate the note.

Anyone knows the color of Alcantara fabric used in the seats / Overland cover? Is it 9002 (dark grey) or 9040 (black)?

i finally installed mine today.

fucking god that nut under the shift knob had fucked up threading or something. that 3 minute DIY video showed them loosening it with a 15mm wrench and then he just unscrewed it off the shift lever with his fingers, but mine was fucked. I didn't have any trouble loosening it but i had to wrench it off the entire way which took forever, and there were metal shavings everywhere from it tearing the threads almost like it was put on cross-threaded but it didn't visually seem to be the case.

while i was taking it off i was thinking at that they must have used some sort of thread locker or something though i didn't see any compound on the threading. it was a lot easier to get back on (but still required a wrench the entire way) but then the shift knob was unbearably difficult to get back on.

i got it all back together and finished but man it killed my hands and my forearms- and i've been single for years so my hands are REAL strong

Man that must have sucked. I had zero issues with removing and reinstalling mine 😂

yeah it was fucking horrible. i was freaking out trying to get it off. whoever originally assembled it must have used some sort of thread locker on it though i didn't see any traces of it. it was literally tearing the the threading of the shift lever. it's all back together and i drove for a bit and it's all totally fine as if it never happened, but it was absolutely terrible.

Maybe you’d have had an easier time without the wrench if your fists weren’t so slippy.

First post!

For anyone looking to pull the trigger on one of these - looks like now is the time!

I believe the part is in stock (and if Overland does not have them, dealers should be able to get them within days).

And Overland looks to be having a Black Friday deal going. I was ordering one regardless and was pleasantly surprised when it had free shipping and 15% off once in the cart.

This is on my short list! This plastic around the shifter should have been this way from the factory.

I would also like to know if it is black or dark gray as I want to get something customized to wrap around the shift knob during the hot summer.
