Integra Type-S Expansion tank failure.

Can you expand on the gasket issue? I hadn't heard of this, and I'm not getting results when I go looking.

This post but there's also discussion about it in that thread. If I'm not mistaken the other expansion tanks don't have this design.

add me to this list! less than 1 yr old (bought in August '23, probably among first production run last year) and less than 1600 miles. will have to get around to installing the mishimoto tank that's been sitting in my garage earlier than i thought i would.

This issue isn’t unique to Acura/Honda. Multiple aftermarket vendors make aluminum tanks for the 3rd and 4th generation Miata’s. Many stories of blown plastic tanks and over heated engines, especially if one tracks the car. I’ve replace my Miata tank with an aluminum one. The original tank has never been redesigned after all these years, so I wouldn’t expect Honda to redesign their current tank.

Installed the PRL tank last night, I did not have any issues with the stock one but wanted to get ahead of the game just in case. That bottom hose was a pain to get disconnected. Came out nice.

the design on this is similar if not identical to the mishimoto right?

I like this one because the welds look so much better to me than the mishimotos.
