They do pay higher taxes but those don't go to Acura. Acura jacked the price up for the US pretty good on this car. Seems like they are making a profit selling at MSRP in Canada which equates to $40233 US.
Even with 12% of tax doesn't reach 50K.
Thanks for the tip. I'm surprised they are willing to sell that to anyone. Don't they usually go down the list to the next person, to see if they want it? Or did everyone who wanted silver already get one? I just got on their list about a month ago, but for either a TEP or ABP, and I think they said I was 20th in line for those colors. So I would assume there are probably that many waiting for a silver one, too.
They must go down a list because she mentioned they had me down as any exterior color except black which is accurate. Keep in mind even though there's a list people change their minds or get a car elsewhere or can't secure financing there's a plethora of reasons it doesn't work out. Silver is my favorite color on ITS but I'm not going through the hassle of trading for a color.
