So I been having this rattle/buzz since winter , it’s more apparent in cold weather. It only happens with heavy acceleration and letting off the gas from higher rpm’s . It’s coming from someplace on the passenger side . I had looked online and tried taking the seat belt area apart , it was not that . Today I took the bottom glove box area apart and drove around with it off and that was not issue. I took the a pillar off also breaking a clip and drove with that off and that wasn’t the issue . After all that I took the door card off and checked inside . Nothing seemed loose or that it would cause any rattle/buzz but I went for a ride with the door card off and did not hear the rattle/buzz . As soon as I reinstalled the door card the rattle was back . I don’t see anything loose but figured I’d check with everyone as I want to take it apart again . The one thing I couldn’t
figure out how to take off that I want to check is the els Audio metal grill . I think that may be it but I am unsure . Does any one know how to take that off ? Any ideas on what it may be ?

I've had several rattles from the doors. The speaker grill is currently rattling for me and it's horrendously annoying, but only happens when volume is above 8 or I'm driving on a moderate highway surface. The solution there is to pop off the metal part of the grill and put felt tape in the contact areas.

I've also had a rattle from the els plastic surround. Mine from the factory had moderately loose screws and they take just a light hand turn to tighten and make better. Do not overtighten (no more than 25 inch pounds) or else they can crack.

The other very rattley area was the front most plastic harness in front of where the door handle inside is. Mine from factory didn't have enough noise suppressing wrap on it so I added more all the way down and shoved felt tape under the contact area of the plastic clip.

The last area of noise from the door has been the door handle itself. Opening it, it has a tendency to loosen over time due to how the metal. Clips pull on the plastic frame. I pulled it apart and put felt tape under every single contact area there as well as some butyl right behind the door handle. That dramatically improved the "feel" of the door handle and reduce the rattling that would occur over imperfect surfaces that came out as more of a buzzing.

I will also add that pulling out the vapor barrier (you have to be extremely careful or the foam part of it will easily rip) and putting butyl onto the door itself helped dramatically cut down vibrations into the door and a lot of the echoing/buzzing I was getting via other parts of the door. Makes sense since butyl helps kill the vibrations.

Hope that helps. 😊

I just realized this weekend that my front passenger speaker grill is like almost detached on the top or something so the whole upper section can just rattle in there. The way I even realized that was one of the rattles was using a sine sweep with the volume at a decent level. I used one on youtube that notes the frequency as it sweeps through, and when you hear a rattle you can search a test tone of that frequency to isolate it. That speaker grill was vibrating like crazy. Figure that might be one of the issues you're dealing with as well.

I need to remove it and put some felt tape in there like @Victorofhavoc said.

My driver's side dash vent area near the a-pillar rattles and squeaks like crazy, it's actually driving me insane. I figured out that if I pop the vent out and pull the dash material vent-surround away from the a-pillar, it gets a lot better, but it's kinda difficult to implement that as a fix. Going to try jamming something in between the a-pillar and the dash to see if that does it.

Are you referring to the metal els speaker grill ? If so I am going to try to take that apart and check do you know how by any chance ? I found these images online , I’m hoping it’s my issue . Raising the speaker volume doesn’t make any rattle noises for me , it’s only when heavy on throttle .

This whole part here is loose so if I press on it (can visibly see a gap that closes when I press on it, so mine might be total garbage), it moves in and out and can rattle against the trim piece. I'm able to get it to rattle like crazy with music/sine sweeps, and I can touch it while it's doing it and it dampens it significantly. If yours doesn't do that, then it's probably different, and maybe there will be something behind the door panel, as Victor mentioned. Once I fix that grill, I will have to check if there are more things to tackle behind the door panel as well, but the grill is the first priority for me on that front.

I do feel it’s looser on passenger side as the drivers side doesn’t move but the passenger does a drop so I’d rather be safe and inspect it and reinforce it once I take the door card off again . Do you know how to remove it all ?

I haven't tried to remove it yet, so we'll see how it goes I guess 🤣.

Take door card off.

From back side look for the silver screws with built in flat washer, undo them.

When the els surround pops off squeeze the grill through the slots gently, ensuring not to bend them.

Once they're off, felt tape the grill tabs and insert back in.

Once back in, slightly bend the tabs to ensure they form a snug fit.

I have the same rattle, started maybe 2-3 weeks ago. My first thought was maybe it’s the actual speaker since it becomes most apparent between 3-4k rpms.

I have fixed different rattles by doing what was said above in the past and it worked but this is a buzz.

Might try tearing down the panel and see if anything can be done. Will be updating if I happen to find anything.

For you guys trying to find rattle’s without having to drive the car, I usually play this video and bump the volume up to try to induce some rattles without having to drive around and have a partner push things lol.

Edit:
Mainly works for interior rattles only obviously.
