Good idea. I appreciate the advice. I'm going to call today and see if they can get me in next week. Unfor
I had this issue come up with my 2022 Civic Hatchback ST around December (last year). After a few test drives with a service tech and a few calls to Honda Canada they recommended that they replace the steering rack. It did take a few months to get the parts needed but it did fix the issue immediately. I only kept the car for about 3 months/5000km after the swap (ended up trading for an ITS) but I didn't have any issues with my steering in that time.
Did you continue to drive it until it was a repaired? Just curious if this issue progressively gets worse or if it has been severe enough for anyone that they just stopped driving it until fixed.

...in other words, thoughts on taking it on an upcoming 10hr roundtrip road trip assuming it's not fixed by then?

In my experience, it's inconsistent, sometimes mild, sometimes severe, but more likely to happen in cold weather.

It was happening pretty regularly to me in December/January last year when temps were around 40. The day I took it to the dealer, same temps, and it didn't do it at all. Following weekend I took a day trip (100 mi each way), and the steering was severely sticking, until about the last 15mi. A couple weeks later I drove from Raleigh to DC. It was colder then, even had some snow in DC. That was February. No problems at all until about a month ago when it started to get cooler again. But even now it hasn't been as severe.

If every day the steering felt like that 100 mi trip I would not drive the car anywhere but the dealer. My car's at the dealer now and they just called to tell me the job is done. So I'll see how my new steering rack goes, and hopefully this one works for a long time.

For me it was fairly consistent and continuous sticking at about center. It did start as an infrequent issue but over a few months it became fairly regular. The severity of the sticking never really got worse for me. It mostly just became an annoyance and kind of kept me from enjoying driving the car. I felt myself adapting to just expect it as I drove on my 1hr commutes to and from work.

I don’t think you should worry about taking it on a 10hr commute (I frequently did 3-4hr drives as I waited for my repair). It’s definitely a good idea to get the ball rolling on getting it fixed though. I know I spent months trying to convince myself that I could live with it before reaching out to the service dept.

My dealer replaced the steering rack assembly about a week ago. So far so good!

I went ahead and filed a complaint with the NHTSA

I dont want to jinx myself but....I havent felt anything since my first post. Although leaving my driveway I sometimes hear a clunk that I am unsure if it is coming from the brakes or the steering....I will continue my quest for answers.

Thought I'd give an update...

I brought my Integra to the dealership last week to address this issue. The service team was great and didn't take long at all to notice the issue. One of the techs mentioned they've seen this across a few different models, so it was nice they didn't think I was totally crazy.

They've got the steering rack assembly on order, so I'm hoping that solves it because it definitely seems to be getting worse.

Made an account just to add to this thread. Noticed mine start sticking some around 15k miles, took it in for the last free oil change at 19k and mentioned it and they pretty quickly diagnosed it and will be replacing the steering rack. Part is currently on back order though so a lot of folks must be dealing with this.

Well, I think it's finally happening on mine. Was driving down the interstate last week and as I came out of a corner it felt like the steering briefly didn't want to move. Gave it a few more days to make sure, but I'm definitely noticing it more and more on the freeway, I feel it when correcting while traveling straight now as well.
At 21k mi now

All fixed (I hope)! They officially replaced my steering rack assembly (part # ending in a24). I've only driven it about 10 miles post-repair, but the issue is completely gone so far...very relieved!

Before getting the repair it became progressively worse with the jerky/sticky/glitchy steering wheel, to the point where it was unenjoyable and stressful driving it. I'm definitely looking forward to getting back to enjoying the car again.

I'll chime in here... I have about 13k miles on my '23 Integra and noticed the "sticky" wheel around 10,500k. Brought the car to the dealership this morning (11/29) and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem. They reset the LKAS system and told me to drive around with it disabled for a while to see if I noticed a difference. So far, wheel still sticks. I already have an appointment on Dec. 29 to fix an issue with my traffic sign recognition, so I'll push the issue further then. I also just filed National Highway Safety report on the issue. Hopefully the issue doesn't escalate beyond a minor annoyance, but it seems I am going to need to keep on the dealer to get this fixed.

As annoying as it is when issues like this arise the only outlet is to be the "karen" and make sure that your voice is heard. Nobody likes it but it is necessary.

Any idea if the part is revised? Also do you have the whole part # for the rack and pinion?
