It's 50-100 of a single color per batch. I think MY24 had 7 colors, correct?

I don't think it has anything to do with exclusivity. They likely do it in proportion to the overall model sales and follow some average pace based on demand, supply on dealer lots, etc. The regular Integras outsell the Type-S by about 10:1 if I remember right. So they may do those in larger batches or more frequent batches.

Read the first post in the thread.
I think ur wrong there too. 50-100 also doesnt' make sense. honestly i don't care about any of this lol. just wanted to point out what i heard is all. how many they actualy make? doesn't make a difference to me.

did you read the title of the thread? says "unofficial" right there, friend....

All he did was scrape data from Dreamshop, which is normally a reliable way to find the highest VIN, so that is a dependable number in my opinion. I'll let the OP describe/defend his method if he wishes but I consider it to be dependable data.

There are press releases from Honda with US sales figures if you google. They group it by calendar year and model without splitting out trim levels. Here is the data:

Calendar Year 2023: 32,090 Integras sold (all trims)
Calendar Year 2024: 24,398 Integras sold (all trims)

I do believe we could pin down ITS sales further if more people reported VINS and build dates for MY24 cars that spanned 2023 and 2024 calendar years. Based on dealer inventories I would say ITS sales are probably ballpark 1/10 - 1/8 of total Integra sales. Dealers stock and sell way more base and A-spec cars than Type-S cars.

Acura did say ITS made up about 10% of Integra sales since it went on sale in this Dec 2023 press release:

https://acuranews.com/en-US/release...coveted-2024-car-and-driver-10best-cars-award

So I think the numbers all converge pretty well. It's not about specifics, it's about sanity checks and I think the data all points to ITS sales of about 10% of total Integra sales. It's just not mathematically realistic to conclude they are making 1500 ITS cars of a single color per batch (especially since they only reached VIN ~1470 thus far in MY2025 with all six colors). We may not know the exact number, but 1500 would be an order of magnitude too high to be possible.

These were the same people that paid 20k+ markups
That's a steal! That japanese build quality is worth at least 2x that. I don't think I've ever seen a single thread about rattles on the FL5.

Oddly, I have seen BMW production videos and they have a total salad mix of models and colors coming down the line. That could mean that the batching happens upstream before vehicles come together, but it seems like BMW is using a different production model with more flexibility but less efficiency of scale. That would have to make it more complicated for the workers to keep track of what vehicle they are working on at each step.
I think this has more to do with the customizability. Type S is almost you get what you get. BMW you have a litany of options which creates thousands of possible combinations so I'm not surprised they're different.

I hear you, but another data point, I have a build date of 3/24, and my vin ends in 2941. how do you explain this then? if they were 50-100 cars per run, by 3/24, they should have had less than 1500 produced, yet my vin is close to 3000. I think you all really want this car to be low prod and limited, but u have to remember, these fools are not trying to suspend production of other models, simply to pump out 50 of these and then restart the production line for the other models/integra trims. again, without offical numbers from honda/acura, we won't really know for sure.
Mine got delivered June of 2023 as a 2024 model. You're counting it as if 2024 production began Jan 1, 2024.

nope, not at all. i'm fully aware production starts mid to end of the previous years for a lot of car models across manufacturers. this is common knowldge and u shouldn't assume i didn't know it. i said it production started months beforehand didn't specify exactly when. my point was that they likely started production in july/august of 2023 and by march they had already produced around 3000. they're obviously not going to produce more than they think they can sell. something tells me they adjusted production numbers after seeing demand and sales over the course of some duration

I guess it's a miracle that I got mine in June then. So sorry for assuming anything.

The Type-S had an early mid-year launch when it was introduced as a 2024 model. They ramped production in May 2023 and the first deliveries were in early June 2023. By the end of the 2023 calendar year they had sold 1871 units according to the press release.

Normal schedule is to ramp the new model year in late summer, which is how it went with the 2025 ITS. The earliest 2025 VINS I came across were made in August 2024.

May want to search a little harder…

There is little evidence to suggest is that Japan build quality is superior these days. Let’s not forget the faulty welds on seat rails which require da recall for all FL5s.

Not sure if you missed it but that little /s at the end is to indicate it was a sarcastic post
