The type-s wheel has pockets to a compare the exposed studs with stick wheels; lucky!
The a spec also have those wells on the rims but they do not line up properly so people dremmel the rims and that sounds so unsafe. I really hope this guy checked the wheel sits flush with the spacer... like how most people donā€™t check for some reason...

I think the people who have worst luck are the ones who donā€™t check proper fitment LOL. Not using a torque wrench and not rechecking torque often. This mod is surely more unsafe and needs precaution. Like make sure it for sure fits LOL.

in the Facebook group thereā€™s myriad of folks on 20mm spacer and there is no possible way they claimed ā€œperfect no issuesā€ when I clearly posted the lugs collide with the rim and prevent it from sitting flush against hub. Can always trim the bolts but some people said they just torqued it down extra hard. So what really happened was they pushed the studs out a bit...

I agree with your thoughts that rear with 20mm and front with 15mm is probably the best setup....particularly with the mudguards to protect the paint.

Yeah itā€™s been a thing with <20mm spacers. 20mm contacts but if you torque em down with a little extra elbow grease or take the time and dremmel the recess, theyā€™ll go on without any extra force. The amount of material needed to be removed is negligible; almost as much as if you really curb-rashes your wheel for example. Maybe 1 total gram of (Alloy) weight between all 5 recesses.
I have the eibach spacers in my cart waiting to pull the trigger when I can get some garage time but the 15s and 20s with those come with longer replacement studs. A lot more involved but the ā€œright wayā€ to have it done. If it winds up taking me all day, I may say screw it, dremmel the recesses, pop the wheels in and go get it balanced instead lol

it should throw off the wheel balance and you should rebalance your tires if you dremmel. Which Iā€™m sure no one is doing.

The wheel balance wouldnā€™t be thrown off since the (minimal) loss of material is happening at the center of the wheel. The imbalance actually gets amplified as you move towards the edge of the wheel.

I was thinking just this. It is so minimal and close enough to the center of the rotating mass; any change in balance would be negligible or non-existent.

To be clear, we need to keep DE5 discussions separate. I see "lots of Facebook issues" but I am guessing that isn't on the FL5s or DE5s. The standard Integra is a completely different hub/wheel design and isn't applicable at all. I had no issues bolting my rims to the spacers and yes they are flush. (FL5s have been running them for quite some time without issue)

I just ordered 20mm for the back, so will be selling off a pair of the 15s if anyone in the Bay wants them.

IMO, happy with the front, wouldn't want to personally go wider, but should have done 20mm in the back.
not sure about the DE5, but the FL5 with 20mm, you need to trim the OEM studs. I think 18mm is the max w/o cutting, 15mm all around is the safe bet.

The larger the spacer, the more room for the studs to clear. If a 15mm fits, a 20mm will as well. Whether you start to run into rubbing issues is a separate problem, but for just the studs, 20mm is "safer."
