you can either worry about it and miss out on this opportunity don’t get the car or buy the car knowing 125mi even with mildly abusive miles still is likely going to be just fine, that’s what warranty is for. Ask them to take it for a a few mile test drive yourself and make sure everything is in order and then buy with confidence.

I doubt anyone did anything that would severely cripple the car long-term. Even with proper breakin problems happens, just part of car ownership. I used to feel like you, but a little less so now.

Even with 5 miles on the clock, someone can sit there and rivet for an hour lol.

I say go for it and try not to overthink it! Maybe ask for a heavily discounted extended warranty instead of money off the MSRP if you are going to keep the car long term?
I bought an Apex blue with 4 miles on it, pick it up next Friday.

Great choice, hoping to join the Apex Blue crew myself in a couple of weeks.

I do, Tigers eye pearl is my number 1`, there is only 1 in 4 surrounding states, so that is out, second choice is Liquid carbon, the one I can get has 144 miles on it, so I passed, Apex blue, then lunar silver and white in that order are my next best.
So, I ended up with an Apex Blue with ebony interior, not my first choice, but totally acceptable.
The ebony interior was a must, it was the exteriror color I was trying to find, but I ama very happy with Apex Blue.

I've always liked white cars and I love how the ITS looks in white. The only other color I cross-shopped it with was the LCM and I was fortunate enough to see both at a local dealer. Seeing them side by side solidified my choice.

On a related note, have you seen the Tiger Eye Pearl in person? I thought it looked GREAT in pictures but seeing it in person was underwhelming.

The dealer I purchased mine had two Apex Blues also - it's a great color.

Funny, I wanted white, then I saw one, I wasn't impressed with the body lines in white so I went to liquid carbon, I really liked how that looked but I didn't go with it because that one has 144 miles on it, then I asked for a Lunar silver, which the dealer requested but hasn't received, I thought Lunar silver is a good contrast color and 600$ cheaper due to the paint choice, but at the end of the day, Apex blue was the ticket for us.
I haven't seen a Tigers eye in person but the ones I saw online were very impressive.
Honestly, I liked all colors other than black or red.
I won't own a red car and black is too difficult to keep clean plus you lose the contrast of the black bits, so those two were never a consideration for me.
Problem with red is it is the first color your eye sees, it is why red lights, stop signs and brake lights are red, red cars pay higher insurance rates and are singled out more by cops than any other color, so for me, red was never a consideration.

PRP on the ITS is a BEAUTIFUL color. Didn't think I could live with it for the length of time I'm planning on keeping this car though (which is maybe forever given how manuals are slowly dying out).

I was looking at the CTR at the same time and only considered Championship White on that one even though BB is a beautiful color as well.

Yeah, performance red pearl
Ahh ok got it.
I like how they look, but it just isn't for me, and I too plan to keep this car.
I bought it as a gift to myself for a reward.

I wanted a brand-new Honda or Acura motor I could break in myself and keep.
My 2000 chevy Silverado has 248k on it and is my daily, my 2007 350z has 180k on it and is my wife's daily so I keep my cars and I take care of them, I figured this would be a treat to own a Honda K series from virgin, and that is exactly what I bought.

This last week has been so exhausting, ups and downs, changes etc.. I'm so glad it is over and I can chill now and just go get my car. Last March I decided to get myself a new car, I was going to buy a Honda Civic sport with the 2.0 liter 6 speed manual N/A motor, for 27k, and I was happy with that choice, I love the Civic and its new interior etc..

then I learned about the Type R, I had never heard of it before, I was excited about it but I'm not a track guy and didn't want one, but then they announced the type S, as soon as I saw it, I said, that is my new car.

Despite it being 2X as much money, I want what I want, so I started saving because it was a little pricey and to afford it I would need a sizeable down payment.
I saved up 17kl and then made a deal, I am so happy with the deal from every aspect, I can't stop smiling, this was the most fun new car purchase ever.

I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in 4 days, tonight I will sleep like a baby.

I think given all that, you are making the right decision. You don't want that whole shadow of "how were those 80 miles driven before I got it" looming over your head.

That is exactly it.
I am the type of person who would obsess over it, so I knew that wasn't going to fly, I felt bad because I liked my salesman, and he did a lot for me to try to make me happy over the past 6 months, but at the end of the day, I should be able to feel good about the deal and I definitely didn't feel good about a car with 144 miles while I watch others take delivery of cars with 8 and 12 miles on them, so yes, I am super happy with my decision.
Truth be told, I kind of wish I could have gotten the Tigers eye pearl or Liquid carbon, but meh, it isn't a deal breaker.

I love stories like this. It's what being an enthusiast is all about.

Two other random thoughts:

- Red is a polarizing color, and personally has never really been my first choice. But I can't deny the appeal when I see a red car and luck just keeps dropping red in my lap. I've had many over the years and loved all of them, with the only red I actively chose being Carmine Red on my 911. I was just thinking about it today, and I've long maintained that if Acura decides to do a PMC edition in some awesome color I'd have to deeply consider it, but I'm not so sure about that now... I really love this car and don't ever want to part with it.

- You have to start considering at least trying a track event.

The track does seem like fun, it was just never in the cards or on my radar.
I would like to check out a track event, I would love to go to a meet, maybe even tail of the dragon, I always wanted to do it on my Harley, but I think it would be fun in this car too.

I like it. End of the day you got what you wanted at a deal you not only can live with, but appear to feel pretty good about.

The car itself and owning it is also its own joy as you'll soon find out. As much as I love my Performance Red, Apex Blue was actually my first choice after seeing it in person. I too would have gone with the ebony interior.

This is the way.

Congrats on the blue ITS! I wanted blue #1 but I also love my white car and the silver one before it. The car looks good in any color.

glad you got a 4mi car! That’s awesome and maybe one of the lowest delivery mile cars I’ve heard of!

Tail of the Dragon is on my short list too, it's just the travel involved I'd have to make an event of it and just haven't got around to mapping out the logistics. Personally I was going to start with just Skyline Drive through the Appalachians in Virginia/West Virginia, a lot closer but still fantastic from what I hear. The Tail does have to happen eventually though.

For starters, look into autocross. The season is just now starting, and there are probably still spots available for an autocross "school" near you. My recommendation is the SCCA autocross school, but other orgs like PCA and BMWCCA etc. have their own schools that would work great too if you can grab a spot. Level 1 for true beginners, if you've happened to have done an autocross or two before you could probably skip to Level 2. Expect to pay ~$2-300 for the school but it's a great kickstart to cover the basics and get some seat time under your belt, and typical event fare hovers around the $60 mark. Autocross is also generally not too hard on your car/consumables and very low risk of collision/impact with barriers etc. relative to other forms of motorsport, so it is truly the most accessible path to utilizing your car's true potential outside the limitations of driving on the street.
