Wow. You were first on their list and passed due to a $681 package of mat, liners, wheel locks?!?! I, and I'm sure tons of other people, would have jumped on a deal like that and even better if with a local dealership. At the time, I contacted them back in May, the dealership was only selling to in-state buyers.
Absolutely! I don’t regret it for a moment. I don’t care about being the ‘first kid on the block’ with the ‘new’ hot hatch performance vehicle. I’m perfectly fine with waiting for the car and I certainly do not want to take part in paying for the hype (even if the hype is only costing me $681).

I could be wrong, but I do believe these vehicles will become available for true MSRP (or below), without forced add-ons in 12-24 months.

Agreed, this is kind of a "shocked face" moment.

Dealers have been adding phantom "documentation fees" and the sort for literal decades. A sub-$1000 "mandatory" add-on that you actually get physical items from is not as unreasonable from a dealer perspective than expecting them to nix it and sell it to you at MSRP from a buyer's perspective, especially considering the market.

Rdrcr, are you sure you actually want a car? Because your principal is standing in the way of you actually getting one. I understand that there's a decent likelihood that you can find the deal you want if you continue to wait, but $681 is not a substantial amount on a $50k+ purchase. Frankly that's just ridiculous, but we've had this conversation several times...
I know. I’m crazy.
However, I’m patient and my principles are firm.

I work for a dealership that sells their vehicles for true MSRP. No markups, no additional fees, no forced accessories and zero BS. And, we followed our principles all the way through the pandemic, even when our competitors were charging $10-20K over MSRP for the same vehicles. Seeing, hearing and experiencing the reaction from customers before, during and after purchase is worth it. We even offered the same price to out-of-state buyers. Our reviews and feedback are more than enough to justify our decisions.

Working for dealerships for over 20 years has definitely changed my perspective on vehicle purchases (especially when I sometimes have to cover for the sales manager in his absence) and I will not participate in a vehicle purchase that is opposite of the way we do business. Even if that means I have to wait.

I know, I’m crazy! ;)

I'll give you credit for walking away but damn my region is still holding strong at minimum $10k and some even charging $20k. I am forced to wait and also travel out of state if and when I do get an allocation. My travel expense is going to be more then $681. I would have loved to purchased that car you passed up on I wanted those add on items anyways. But yeah

I hear you.

The funny part is I truly will not use any of the $681 forced accessories. Total waste of money for me. I’ll go with TuxMats and I hate wheel locks with a passion (it’s a service department thing).

The $681 is immaterial. It’s all principle.

I agree with the Acura mats. Have an Aspec set if anyone is interested.
No luck on exchanging the option for something more worthy?

Is this the norm in Acura?
I was quoted for an ITS
8.04% for 60
8.64% for 72
8.99% for 84

I am giving 10K down with a credit score of over 800 and making six figures yearly.
My bank should give me even better rates but the payments will not change that much.
Hard pass for now ...
The car was @MSRP +$1900 of addons.

Pohanka Acura says their future orders of ITS are going to be at MSRP and no ADM. guess this means the people who have deposits at an ADM will pay the markup unless they cancel and then after they work through that list everyone else will be at MSRP

Yeah and it doesn't seem that high credit matters. At all.

I second trying credit union. I won't pretend to understand what math goes into calculating these rates, but dating back to the early-mid 2000s, I've gone through Navy Federal because their rates were always S tier. That all changed in the 2010s until now, where I was somehow quite pleased to land a 5.04% for 72 months. I know that's way off the 2-4% I've been used to for years but all things considered, not bad.

I did submit an application to see what the dealer could do, and got a "we can't come close" to the rate I got through Navy Fed.

Yeah, it’s insane! I’m well over 800 too with similar income and I’ve been quoted the same rates through Acura.

Credit Union rates vary from region to region. Because of this, it makes it difficult to compare from one person to another. The best rates I’ve seen recently are in Hawaii via Credit Unions. Their rates are currently hovering at around 4.50% @ 60. Unfortunately, you have to have residence in HI to qualify for membership.

I have been working a few local dealers with unclaimed demo units since they arrived. I finally secured a deal today, "launch package" @$59k.

This is the strategy I used:
1. Sent an email to the general manager offering msrp + msrp for the "launch package" ($58k)
2. Recieved a reply asking that I call his cell.
3. Called the next day, manager was very honest about wanting to make a few grand over sticker. They had it listed at $65k. Prospective buyer backed out or had finance problems. I explained I'm not interested at that price. Gave examples of previous purchases that I've made at sticker (2 Shelby Mustangs). We ended the call respectfully.
4. Almost immediately received text with screen shots of his desktop showing dealer cost of accesories at $8200. Again, he was very transparent. I explained, no interest in paying $12k over for accessories that are at best worth half that value + adm. I sent pics of the document showing accessory dealer cost vs msrp, and the purchase agreement posted in another thread. Thats when the offers started flowing.
5. First offer $60K, I countered $58K firm
6. Second offer $59k and the best Google review ever. I accepted, and plan to close tomorrow.

I also worked a second dealer with the same strategy. Unfortunately they would not move off the $64k ask even when I told them about the the deal described above.

If anyone is interested in taking the other msrp allocation I had in place let me know. The first PM I recieve will get preference. The dealer is asking for a $500 deposit

Criswell Acura in Annapolis, MD. Fantastic to work with, no ADM, willing to negotiate on accessories for local buyers. Not sure what their policy is on out-of-state buyers.

Really, I can't say enough good things about Criswell. Rock solid experience the whole way through- from me showing up unsolicited to look at and drive their demo, to them getting a random allocation that's sitting in my garage right now. Great people, great way to do business.

That said, no clue when they'll be getting more ITS inventory.

I can confirm that
Crown Acura in Richmond VA sells the ITS at MSRP plus some none negotiable paint protection fees. I was there this week and test drove their demo. They told me is their policy to sell all their cars at MRP.
They have another dealer in georgia with the same rules called Nalley Acura.

Just arrived from AutoNation Acura in Sanford Florida. They had a ITS that were about to close a deal with a guy that agreed to pay 60k.
In front of that dealer is a Honda and they had a SGP Civic Type R at 58k.
If you really want the platform and your are willing to pay markups the ITS in this case was a great deal. Hopefully this should bring down the CTR prices.
The Nally chain is part of Asbury, which is a publicly traded company. So the Richmond store must be part of their system.
