Acura Integra Integra Type S Earns 2024 Car and Driver 10Best Cars Award preview-928x522

  • 10Best Cars award adds to Integra's impressive list of industry honors including 2023 North American Car of the Year™
  • Acura Integra Type S recognized for its class-leading power and dynamic performance paired with premium features and refinement
The award-winning Acura Integra Type S—the most powerful, best-performing Integra ever—has earned another major honor as one of Car and Driver magazine’s 10Best Cars. The 2024 10Best Cars award adds to the next-gen Integra's impressive list of prestigious industry and media honors, which includes the distinguished 2023 North American Car of the YearTM award.

"We are incredibly proud that the new Acura Integra Type S, our new performance halo, has earned a Car and Driver 10Best award to go with some of the industry’s most prestigious honors won by the Integra,” said Emile Korkor, assistant vice president, Acura National Sales. "The Integra continues to resonate in the market, capturing nearly 40% of buyers in its class and bringing in the next generation of customer to the Acura brand.”

About the Car and Driver 10Best List
To compete in 10Best, which has been the standard of excellence for more than 40 years, vehicles must be all-new vehicles, 2023 10Best winners, vehicles that were not available for the 2023 competition, and those with significant updates. All must fall under the base-price cap of $110,000 and be on sale no later than January 31, 2024. After two weeks of driving more than 80 new cars, trucks, and SUVs that meet those criteria, Car and Driver editors assign each vehicle a score of zero to 100. The votes are tallied and averaged to arrive at the 10Best of 2024. Click here for the complete 2024 Car and Driver 10Best Cars awards story.

Acura Integra Type S
The new Integra Type S delivers a new interpretation of ultimate street performance for the next generation of enthusiast drivers, elevating Acura Precision Crafted Performance in the gateway segment with 320 horsepower1 and the only available manual transmission in its class.

Since its return to the Acura lineup for the 2023 model year, the next-gen Integra has quickly become the best-selling model in the premium sport compact segment and now captures nearly 40% of sales in class, with three times the sales of its nearest competitor. Integra sales have topped 2,000 units for the 14th straight month in November, with the high-performance Integra Type S representing about 10% of the sales mix since it began arriving at dealers in June.

Manufactured* in the U.S.
The 2024 Integra Type S is built exclusively at the Marysville Auto Plant in Marysville, Ohio, on the same production line as the Integra, Acura TLX and TLX Type S*. The K20C engine is built exclusively at the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio, which also produces the turbo V6 that powers the Acura TLX Type S and MDX Type S. That's great and all, but I've only seen 6 new integras out in the wild. One was a type s and one I saw driving around near the Acura dealership, so that one doesn't count. I live in the Dallas area, which is truck country, but Im curious to know which states are buying up all the integras?

At the same time, im conflicted , I'm glad not everybody is driving around in a teggy and I also know, in order for after market support to go up, we need those sales numbers to go up. Anyways, good job Acura, I'll switch my drive mode to sport to celebrate the occasion.

Someone made a website that shows a map of availability for the Integra Type S (based on a similar site he did for the Civic Type R). That should give you a better idea of where you'll see more of them.

I see a few Integras every week in my area (Chicago Suburbs). Hadn't seen any other Type S for almost 3 months after I bought mine - spotted my first one the other day. Funnily enough, it was the demo model that I test drove before buying my car (I talked to the guy and he said he bought it at the same dealer, and that mine was also his first).

Count me in for driving in Sport+ and listening to that sweet exhaust note to celebrate.

I only have seen about 4 integras and no Type S except the one in my driveway.

Only seen one in my town as well. (Mine) Although my son said he saw a white one in the area. Small county of maybe 100k residents...North Carolina. Lots of cars coming through Raleigh and Charlotte.

Resale is irrelevant to me, I'll be buried in this car.

(Unless they make a PMC edition that I can get without getting fleeced by a dealer...)
I think the mid-cycle refresh (2026) will bring a big upgrade, maybe GSR type upgrade. More power, better tires and breaks, better lipkit, to fit above the aspec and below type-s trim ($45k).
