Koatic, Could you let me know what some of those quirks are. While I'm not going blind into owning this car, I have only learned about quirks briefly talked about in review videos and blog/reviews like car and driver

Damn! Ya man leave it stock for a bit gonna feel like a race car. Get a sprint drop in fliter youā€™ll have a blast with the boost noises and pops and bangs.
Here is a photo of the mileage of the x5 from this morning. Almost at 237k and still going strong

I was planning on getting the premium floor mats that have the metal type s logo. I wasnā€™t sure if they are any good or better than the regular mats, but I donā€™t think I will get any weatherproof mats since I have never needed them. Especially since I carry a second pair of shoes in my car on a daily basis, not because of the floor mats, but because Iā€™ve been too lazy to take them out and they come in handy every now and then.
I'm making another shameless plug for TuxMats--the OEM Type S all-season mats offer minimal coverage (nothing compared to TuxMats) for the same price as TuxMats.

The only thing you get by going OEM is the "metal" Type S badge, but it's actually plastic, measuring about 2"x5". Type S is branded in plenty of places around the cabin, you're not at risk of forgetting what you're in. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Iā€™ve mainly been asking about the us mats cause I prefer carpet mats over weatherproof ones. Just a personal preference.

this is how dirty the driver floor mat in my car is after and this was cleaned two weeks ago, and the only other mat that gets dirty is the rear cargo area mat. I understand the tux mats are good I just prefer carpet ones.

I used to be carpet Mattā€™s forever always Then I started rocking weather techs year round 14 so years ago. And have to say I love it. Thought I was gonna run carpet in the ITS but it came with rubber type S Matts and blank carpet ones.

Isn't there a temple (of sorts) dedicated to Honda valve technology floating around out there? Not necessarily a cult but enough to warrant a place of worship lol.

Welcome to the automotive world's best kept secret! I think this car is going to be a real sleeper in a few years as it starts to fade into obscurity.

Another question about the Type S. How do the alcantara inserts things, that are in the front seat, hold up from constant use and exposure to elements/oils. I know alcantara wheels turn shiny if you don't wear gloves or clean them so I wasn't sure if I need to do anything with them when I clean the car. I was also wondering about the quality of the alcantara inserts as I sat in a GR Corolla and it had "alcantara seat inserts" that felt like absolute trash (This was a showroom car). I've felt the inserts of the type s and they feel pretty good and not cheap like the GR Corolla's, but does it degrade and become worse feeling after a while (Ex. a year or something).

Well, I picked up the car today and the only thing that I can say is that I LOVE IT! Drove to Atlanta with my dad to pick it up Saturday and the drive there was relatively good for it being Atlanta. Once we got there they had a white ITS out front and a black TLX Type S in the lot as well. After we got all the "fun stuff" done they pulled it around and the color was crazy. Not only do photos not do it justice, but I had never seen that color before and it really does look crazy. So glad that I didn't go with the blue since it is a little too blue imo but still good looking. The drive home was amazing and I really didn't process that the car was mine till I was about 2 hours into driving (first new car in my life). I stopped by a friends place to show it to him and he said the paint looks like something that would be on a bass boat since the flack is kinda large, but I like it a lot. I kept it in comfort mode till I got to my hometown where I put in sport+ and put it into boost for the first time (not over 5k rpm though). The car is just adicting and I really just want to drive it forever. I don't think I'm gonna modify it at all for a while and I don't think I'm going to track it either but I would definitely want to take it up the dragon a couple times a year or something. Coming from a family that has bmw sports car (e36m, e46m, f82m, f87m comp) I like the change of pace and the "lack of seriousness" is the only way I can describe it. It just feels like it has all of the abilities of a great sports car without the "I'm sophisticated and better than everyone else" feeling of how bmw and porsche market their cars (great cars either way though). Anyway, heres some photos I have of the car

Lastly, everyone I talked to about the car on Saturday, whether at the dealership or anywhere else, said that they had never seen any color car like this. I also had a fl5 CTR pass me on the highway while bringing it home which was like a cherry on top of the event.
