Sorry I don't understand if its resolved or not based on the post. Are you saying the dealer did a wheel alignment and the noise is gone? Or is there more work scheduled to replace parts?
I’m saying I ignored the noise and it made the alignment worse. But yes, there is still more work to be done and parts to be ordered not entirely too sure exactly what but they said they would let me know by this time tomorrow To be done Only thing I pay for is alignment. Now I’m not used to them helping me. Paying for that is supposed to be the case right? Or no?

I would think so. Warranty will cover parts replacements / installation.

Thanks for your followup. Keep us posted if they provide a list of parts that they will be replacing?

It does make sense that they will not cover alignment under warranty or after significant mileage. Everything else should be covered by your bumper to bumper warranty (you're still within the 3yr/36k). As long as there isn't obvious mechanical damage (such as, the car hit a curb or ran over something to cause the issue).

I’ll be doing my own fucking trans fluid replacement
Is this all that the dealer came back with? No other parts replacement or concerns?

If the transmission was underfilled with fluid from the factory I think you'd be able to push the dealer to do the service within warranty coverage. A rep may need to approve it first but if they already checked the fluid level and confirmed it was low (as they stated in their notes) then you should have a good chance at getting it covered.

Yup that’s all they gave me. And tbh. It won’t be covered. Cause I have had them fight me tooth and nail to do anything to the car, much less let it be covered. I’m trading it in. I’m done with Acura for good.

That is ridiculous. If you've never messed with the transmission fluid, if it's low, that's a warranty issue. Transmission fluid doesn't just vaporize or otherwise disappear.

I'd be pissed too.

AND I QUOTE “no it’s a maintenance thing. I’m not sure what happens between point A and B but lemme check with Oscar (shop mechanic) and bounce it off his head and see what he thinks but odds are it will be a thing you’re gonna have to pay for” I replied. It’s fucking covered under the 50k bumper to bumper manufactured parts warranty. If it was low it’s cause I bought it with not enough in there. So it should be free. I got this as a reply “well I’m not sure I didn’t get the car from the factory you bought it at hiley Acura.. maybe they might but we are gonna have to charge you for the servicing” FUCK ACURA

Disappointing to see for sure. If the dealer checked and found the transmission under filled from the factory then it should be a warranty issue.

I have to admit I never use dealers for maintenance and didn't plan on using them for the "free" maintenance but its extra sketchy seeing so many owners have issues with even basic warranty problems. Do you have any other dealers close by? Maybe there's another one that is more willing to look in to this and get it filed as a warranty related maintenance.

And speaking of maintenance, I went ahead and ordered some MTF today. It should arrive next week and I'll do a fluid level check first on the OEM fill and then change the fluid. I'm also curious to see if my transmission is under filled from the factory.

I'll report back if my car still has the same gear mesh/differential groaning noise after I do the fluid change.

I went to all major dealers in dfw all want to charge me but one. And the last one will be attempting to look at it all Tuesday next week and report back to me if it’s covered. And I don’t mind paying them. But not when I buy the premier coverage to be charged 89.99 for cabin air filter change. That’s when I got pissec and want it to be covered like it should be

New transmission fluid arrived early today (thanks Amazon).

I pulled the check bolt before draining the fluid. Nothing came out of the check bolt. When I drained the transmission I got exactly 2 quarts out of it. Refilled until the check bolt started to drip fluid which was right at 2.3qts.

I took the car for a quick drive, only about 20 miles. Shifting is smoother but the gear whine/howl noise is still present at highway speeds. I want to say it is lessened but I don't want to get my hopes up yet. I'll put a few hundred more miles on it and report back.
