Hey Folks,

I was interested in the upcoming ADX for our family until I saw the online reviews which were less than complimentary. What was more concerning was that several comments were made about head gasket issues with the 1.5 engine. Anyone have data on this? Should us Integra 1.5 owners be worried about this happening at some point??

What say you Integra forum? I love my 6MT and had planned on keeping it for a while and not getting an extended warranty.

No issues on my current 6MT head gasket but my prior cvt had a leaking one. The dealer replaced it under warranty while I was in getting inspection. Itā€™s a relatively easy fix even outside of warranty but yeah; the 1.5 gaskets for some reason are shite idk why lol

Good to know it shouldnā€™t be a major issue if it arises. Thanks!

Easy fix while you were getting an inspection sounds more like the common valve cover gasket than a head gasket.

The head gasket issue is because there are a small coolant tunnel between cylinders to get get fluid from the back of the block to the front (circled in the photo) The problem is the gasket itself doesnā€™t have a lot of meat on it between the cylinders because of that. CYL 2 & 3 being the more common location to leak. There are civic that have had head gasket issues but personally think itā€™s more exaggerated on the accord/crv because theyā€™re bigger cars than a civic. Also why I think Honda made the accord all hybrid only to avoid the 1.5t issues and probably see them going that direction all together to get rid of the 1.5t in there line up. Hard to tell when or where it will blow since thereā€™s cars with a couple thousand miles and some with over 100k miles. If you ask me, if you need a bigger car like a crv/adx I would avoid the 1.5t for longevity on the bigger vehicles.

Good data, thanks all. Feeling a little better about this not being a huge issue on the Integra.
