I’ve realized over the years that you cannot avoid swirls or scratches or rock chips. I live in Ohio, we get all 4 seasons, I drive on the highway, this car is my daily. It’s gonna get dinged up like every other car I’ve owned. Hell a rock just hit my windshield like 10 days ago and made a quarter sized chip. I’ve had it fixed already, I’m just saying there’s no avoiding it. I plan to keep this car about 3 ish years then imma move on to something else or if they refresh this car sufficiently enough I may get another one.

Yeah, there are certainly unavoidable things. As a daily, some damage will always occur.

Automated washes are definitely the fastest way to cause swirls and deep gouges, though. I have one car that has almost 80k mi on it and is a 2017. It has zero swirls. There are a few scratches here and there, a couple minor chips, and even some oxidation on the front bumper and roof, but it also looks better than 99.9% of new cars on the road. Zero swirls because I ceramic coated it years ago, refresh every 2 years, and I only hand-wash and dry with clean microfiber towels. My rule with microfibers is that "it they touch the ground, they go into the trash immediately." I'm in KC so I get similarish weather to you, but maybe more ice and less snow.

I'm ocd about detailing though... Most people can't (and don't care to) see what I see.

But end of the day, the point is that a simple beat down from an auto wash shouldn't cause your car to fall apart. Dealer blaming the cold is silly and like someone else mentioned, it's probably wise to report it to acura directly.

Yeah I don’t have a garage to keep my car in or I’d just dry wash it in there in the winter. Just not an option for me. And yeah car washes will swirl up your paint. I’ve had one cat ceramic coated. And it just swirled the ceramic coating instead

Similar setup and climate, outside year round. I take mine to a touchless carwash 2 to 3 times a week. 25k miles and no issues with the suspension. I also had an aspec w/adaptive suspension no issues with similar miles.

Man I wish we had touchless car washes around here. But they don’t exist. Which is weird.

That's strange. We have several but only 1 offers an unlimited wash membership for $30 a month. It's kinda out of the way but worth it.
There's an App call Everwash that will list all carwashes in the area that offers a monthly plan.

Trust me I’ve looked. Were dominated by “mikes car wash” in the Ohio Kentucky Indiana area. All the other ones are like little shithole carwashes that will take your bumper off

Update for anyone following this. Drove it around for another week in “warmer weather”. No change. Sitting at the dealer now waiting for them to plug it up and see what it reads. Several people here I’ve talked to about this say they’ve never seen this before. I’ll post again when I leave here.

So, the front white wheel solenoid is bad. It’s supposed to get like 4 ohms of current, and it read 0. Part in order. Just a bad part from the factory I suppose.

Glad they were able to pin it down. I’ve been following this thread out of curiosity.

Did you mean “front RIGHT wheel solenoid?”

Yeah... What's a wheel solenoid? Wheels don't have solenoids... Unless they meant the shock solenoid? But that's built in and would be a whole shock replacement typically.

Are you able to post the exact part number listed on the receipt? Ironically I begun having this issue. My situation differs bc I’m running coilovers with ADS cancelers in order to avoid getting the dash error and maintain my drive modes.

I’m cool with my dealer, but they might want to cover this one.
