Called the dealer since I’d like to get it done before traveling for Thanksgiving. First you have to have the actual recall notice from Acura and second they need to have parts. Myself and my son haven’t received our recall notice yet, so it’s just wait until it arrives before I call again.

My 2017 Subaru had a recall for the headlight assemblies, took a year to get parts in. Hope this doesn’t take that long.

I just had the recall done today (booked about 2 weeks ago). I didn't have a notice, though. The Acura app had an alert and I used it to call the dealer and they scheduled it. After a year, my wheel began "sticking" when I would make minor turns on it (5-10 degrees). I didn't notice it when I picked the car up this evening, but I'll be able to better test it out tomorrow.

I had the recall done today as well. I got my letter it says NHTSA recall 24V-744
Acura campaign Number VJV
Service Bulletin 24-054

Under recall for improperly manufactured electronic power steering EPS gearbox worm wheel and improperly set worm gear spring. Friction between worm wheel and worm gear can rise resulting in additional steering difficulty.

It took 1 hour for them to do the repair. I had no driving or steering issues prior, and didn’t notice any issues after repair.

Hope everyone has a great and happy Thanksgiving

I got mine done yesterday. It took them about 40 minutes to complete.

I got the notice on my phone and then a couple of days later, I received the mailing.

Completed my recall today. Total time was about 2 hours total but the service manager explained the techs had more issues getting my car on the lift than performing the service...

(I'm on eibach sportlines)

Dropped off my car last evening and picked it back up after lunch today. Since I had no issues before it feels identical. My only complaint is that they took air out of my tires. The car was in their warm garage all night and when they finished the job at 8:30 this morning and they parked the car outside. It was 25 degrees out and by time I picked it up about 1:30 the tires were 3-4 psi below sticker. I had my snows set to just right pressure for winter and they went and screwed it up. After I got home I left the car outside till about 4:00 to let the tires chill and refilled them. 😔

Why would they let air out? surprised they even checked that or went to the trouble.

They gave me a sheet showing that they checked a bunch of stuff, the battery, the tires. the brakes, the fluids and so on. That included setting the tire pressure to the sticker value, but that was in a somewhat warm garage, once left out in the cold the pressures went down to several psi below sticker value. It’s winter here and going to stay that way for a while so recommended “cold tire pressure” should be set in the expected ambient, which I did once the tires got chilled again after I got home.

This is not true. I just bought the car and did not have the recall paperwork. I brought it in and they performed the recall work, no issues.

Well, maybe for your dealer it isn’t true. The first time I called in November the dealer said no.

No it’s not just my dealer. I’ve owned Mercedes, Lexus, Hyundai, Porsche, etc…. Nobody has ever asked me for the paperwork. They actually look it up on their systems when u drop it off. Your dealership just hates you, or all of their customers.

They told me they weren’t prepared for the recall yet and to call back when I get the paperwork. I’m guessing they hate all their customers, it seems like a poorly run operation (Crest Acura, syracuse NY). I have no intention of bringing my car there, even for the free oil changes. Unfortunately, unless I drive to Rochester, I don’t have much choice when recalls are involved.

Yea I’d say avoid that dealership. They lied straight through their teeth.
