Starting yesterday I have had two instances where the car seemed to not respond to the key.

Yesterday I tried to open the hatch by standing right by it with the key in my pocket and it wouldn't open.

Tonight I was trying to open the front passenger door with the key in my pocket and the car didn't seem to react to me having the key near it.

Both times I tried using the buttons on the FOB to unlock the doors. The car didn't respond to any of the buttons on the FOB.

Has anyone had any issues like this? I'm thinking of taking it to the dealership to get it checked.

I hate to be that person, but have you thought to pop in a new battery?

Sounds like it could very well be that especially if you leave your fob close to the car at home. I've read the key communicates more frequently with the car thereby draining the battery faster.

Mine has done this I think 2 different times that I can think of. One was same as you when I was standing right in front of it wouldn't respond so the only way I could it to activate was opening the rear hatch with the push button.

Could be battery FOB related like Silver said.

If it is battery related then that would be a bit surprising to me because the car only has about 1,400 miles on it.

I'll probably end up taking it to the dealership since the car is brand new.

Let us know what you find out with the dealer. I'm also having intermittent issues. I was actually locked out of the car with the engine running and couldn't unlock the doors. I had to use the hard key.

Will do. Not sure if I'll have time this weekend, but I'll update once I get it looked at.

Thanks for reminding me that the physical key exists though, I had forgotten, lol.

Thanks for the info, I'm not sure how to test since I don't know to recreate the issue, but I will say that currently I have been carrying my key in my left jacket pocket and my phone in my right front jeans pocket.

When debugging a problem, never assume. The 2032 is one of the most common pill batteries. It's not a complicated check and depending on the dealership, they might charge you $100-$200 if they don't find anything.

When the issue happens see where each device is. It always happens to me when my hands are full and I need to separate the 2 to get it to unlock.

Happened to me 2 times this morning. Then, the two following times, everything was normal?!

Exactly this - however, these Acuras are the first vehicles in which I've experienced this phenomenon. My son's Integra will even crank slowly if the key and phone are near each other.
