It was my first instructed HPDE. Track was MSR Houston with Driver's Edge. Excellent program for new drivers. Car is bone stock. Castrol SRF didn't arrive until day before and ran out of time to do any prep so I took it easy with threshold braking. It was wet most of the first day which also helped on tire/brake wear. 8x 20 minute sessions over two days with classroom time in between. I was definitely overwhelmed but feel confident I can improve next time out.
glad you got the chance and thanks for sharing .. track days in the wet sucks but it's fun as it dries you you get to start pushing harder... also some good practice with low grip. overwhelming is a good word for it. for as much fun track days are, they sure are exhausting if you're going hard all weekend. i drive with CHIN a lot and they do sessions up to 60 minutes.. it's wild and impossible to stay fueled up the whole time (car and myself). it's so important to keep yourself hydrated and focused and recognize when/before you start to fatigue.

it's all about incremental improvements and having fun while keeping yourself and others safe. such fun! now get up to COTA sometime! the track rewards high horsepower but it's still an epic track/experience.

2024 Integra Type S
I installed my custom shift knob from WC Lathe Werks and Acuity collar this weekend.

I've got to put a plug in here: I can't recommend Chris (at Lathe Werks) enough. I submitted a completely custom request for the knob (shape, height, neck / ball width, etc.), and he got it exactly right. Due to a misunderstanding on my part, there was an issue with the threading depth, and when I asked for his thoughts on a workaround, he jumped to have it shipped back and forth (twice) while he made adjustments so it would fit the locking nut without modification. The fitment with the Acuity collar is perfect, the finish is the best I've ever had on a shift knob, and the customer service was absolutely top notch.

When I was at the track a couple of weekends ago met a guy with a new Nissan Z interested in replacing his daily driver, a GTI, with an ITS. In between one of the track sessions we swapped keys and drove on public roads outside of the track for 10-15 minutes. He raved about the ITS despite me thinking the Z was mostly meh. He text me today he's buying a blue ITS in PA. They had $3500 ADM but he negotiated MSRP plus copper wheels.

Where's my commission check Acura?

This weekend I installed the Hybrid Racing short shifter, some Two Step Performance titanium bolts for the engine cover, a fancy Spoon oil filler cap, and Mugen inner door protectors.

I dropped a flange blot into my carpet. After I spent hours looking for it (even bought a snake camera from Harbor Freight lol), I gave up and left it. I don't hear it rattling around at all, no idea where it could have gone. Oh well!

The short shifter is amazing, and the other vanity items made me feel less like a loser from losing the flange bolt.

How long have you been driving your car with the factory shifter before the change? and What improvements have you felt/noticed the most, switching to the HR shifter?

I have about 12,500 miles on my car, and got it at the end of July '23 (I was a lucky preorder).

The throws feel notchier and it makes driving feel even more engaging. It's a bit tighter and a bit more effort for shifting, but it's mild. I was used to it in about ten minutes.

I've heard from other folks that once you use it for a few days, the shifter gets "broken in" and is a bit more compliant.

And of course, the throws are shorter, so there's that too :)

I’m giving this Spoon knob a try. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet
