I noticed burbles and pops disappearing intermittently over the last few months. Now, they have disappeared completely. Scanned the vehicle and code P0139 came up O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 2.

I have made no modifications to my Teggy, only a simple slip in K&N filter replacement.

Anybody (without modifications) has encountered this issue? I have an appointment at the dealer next week. Teggy has 8000 kilometers on it.

Thanks

Code present = Noise gone

If you have not modified your downpipe / catalytic converter I would clear the code and hope it was a fluke that does not return.

I did clear the code, and it came back in a week. I believe the problem is associated with the code, probably an O2 sensor issue.

If you're still running the stock downpipe and are getting this code its your secondary O2 sensor or wiring.

Its the 2nd O2 sensor on your downpipe right after the cat, or in between cats, I cant remember. You can start diagnosing by checking to see whether the O2 sensor or the wiring harness are loose.

the burples and pops are gone because of the code. your ECU uses a closed circuit and will not alter (retard) the ignition timing while adding fuel required to make the burples and pops when it thinks there are any emissions, knock, fuel or timing codes to protect the engine.

I had the P0139 code once after I installed the TSP downpipe. cleared it and all good since. (well except when a little oil from the PRL HVI filter got sucked into the engine. hella codes at once.)

PSA!! let your PRL HVI air dry over night out of the plastic bag so oil can drain before you slam it in and go balls to the wall..

If the code keeps coming back after you cleared it, then yes P0139 indicates an issue with the sensor not reporting proper voltage change generated by the catalyst bulb in the sensor.

Following up on this one. I took my ITS to the dealer yesterday to find out why code P0139 came up O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 2

1st thing they asked me? Have you done any modifications to the computer. I didn't so I said no.

It took them three hours to identify the problem. They had to connect remotely with an engineer somewhere in the US to do a remote diagnostic. A bad sensor. Why it took them so long? they had never seen this issue and I do not think problem has occurred on any ITS yet.

When the technician came back to speak with me, he mentioned that they also did a thorough scan to see if any modifications had been done. Nothing came back.

The sensor will be replaced later this month.

Getting slightly worried, had taken the ITS out several times today (it's randomly like 10 degrees) and the exhaust was popping all day. Just went to the store 10 minutes away it was fine, but upon going home there were no noises at all.

Tried cycling through comfort-sport-sport+ to no avail, tried turning the car off for a minute that didn't work.

Thinking it could be an O2 sensor as stated above. Car is completely stock. Luckily I have my B1 service this Friday so I'll bring it up if it doesn't resolve.

No CEL or any lights popped up on my dash. Very confused right now.

Mine went away under certain conditions when I got on it a little bit before fully warmed up. Showed up as pending codes and cleared it. Hasn’t happened since it’s gotten warmer and I’ve also let the car get to 4 ticks engine temp before getting on the throttle. Just as another data point.
