Looking at the P-norm curves, here's my rough attempt at comparing the powerbands

Might be a stupid question, but are these intakes for the FL5 all direct fit for the DE5 also? That Infinity Design looks pretty darn solid.

There's some question as to whether or not the side intake scoop on the Gruppem will bolt up nicely. Theoretically, all the rest will, as they leverage mounting points originally intended for common parts.

Interesting. I wonder what about the PRL leaves it far behind the rest of the (way more expensive) options.

full disclosure: I haven't watched the video

Some of the other options replace the OEM rigid plastic section that bridges the inlet pipe to the intake. PRL doesn't offer a replacement for that section and I wonder if that obstructs some flow.

Anyone have the eventuri? I'd like to see a measurement in length and opening diameters for this piece

Installed the PRL HVI and I hear a sort of whistle/high pitch whoosh sound during induction mid-high rpm range right before the typical higher pitch turbo sneeze/whoosh at shifting.

Is this normal or do I have a leak somewhere? I already made sure all my connections/couplers were tight though.

I feel like even a small leak would be a noticeable change in drivability, and throw codes.

Call me crazy but to me it sounds like you're describing the sound a turbo makes. I would expect an intake to exacerbate turbo noises.

Wow, the 3000-4000 rpm range has some big gains on that Infinity Design intake. Thought I would purchase an intake just for the sound but a solid 20 hp in normal driving conditions would be rad.

After shipping, 4.3% import tax, and whatever state sales tax applies, this seems to be a much better price than I've seen from anywhere else:
https://www.blackhawkjapan.com/products/gruppem-fr-0529?_pos=1&_sid=f0d831b3b&_ss=r
Blackhawk is very interesting. Check out some of their wheels. I think some of it is offset by shipping/customs, but ~$600 a wheel for forged 19" Volks is insane. That's 50% off anywhere else I could find online. Seems too good to be true.

As for the GruppeM, I started a thread about that not too long ago. I ended up talking myself out of it. I never could confirm the entire intake assembly is a direct fit for our cars. There's a component that goes down inside the front bumper, and that part at least looks significantly different on the FL5 vs the DE5.

But somebody's gotta be the first to try!
