Sad dino is going to need a new youtube side hustleHere's a happy Dino to brighten your day!
It should but a cautionary tale, but it's not and it won't be. How many times does this need to be discussed? And I still can't make heads or tails if this video was created for clicks or out of sheer ignorance. It's shocking that in 2024 enthusiasts still don't understand how a chassis dynamometer works, what it is, and its purpose. Even if you know little about them, one can exercise a little common sense to interpret the data. Have you never done a science fair project? This video is a great tale of caution regarding comparing different cars on different dynos. Even dynos of the same brand can vary quite a bit. The only way to really judge your power improvements would be to make a baseline pull on this dyno before tuning, then you would have something to compare against.
Since this is a basic bolt on car, the owner could return to the dyno and test it on the factory calibration, the off the shelf map, and the custom tune all in the same session. Rudz is a top notch operation and I'd be confident that they can help you get the testing done in a such a way that he has great results to go by.
I don't think is a click bait. After browsing the comments section the guy is genuinely disappointed with the numbers. It should but a cautionary tale, but it's not and it won't be. It's 2024 and I still see 80%+ of car enthusiasts who still don't know the difference between turbo lag and turbo threshold. It should but a cautionary tale, but it's not and it won't be.
