Honestly I think it'll fit fine, there are a few guys that have installed the PRL inlet and HVI with the standard silicone coupler. In fact the box for my HVI doesnt even specify which coupler it came with, I just mentioned it in my previous post to be 100% safe lol.
I'll report back once I successfully or unsuccessfully get it installed 😅

FYI, the Infinity Design intake can't be ordered on their main website (https://www.infinityautodesign.com/honda-civic-type-r-fl5) but I just saw that they now have a different website for the USA distributor where it sells for $1510 (https://infinitydesignusa.com/products/honda-civic-type-r-fl5).

Their intake looks great, on the other hand it seems like there's no built-in flexibility. I wonder if it allows for enough movement of the engine relative to the airbox. The stock setup has the corrugated rubber tube for that.
They have a carbon TIP as well. I personally love the matte carbon look. Was thinking about getting this combo.
I do think that, especially at these prices, the $0.02 worm gear clamps are cheap looking. They should provide something nicer than that… Anyone know of better clamps I could source myself?

Edit: Found these. They look nicer and apparently have better functionality. https://www.murraycorp.com/turbo-seal-constant-tension-clamps

Just ordered it! It was a good option for my previous car and folks had good experiences with it, so I'm going to give it shot.
Have you received this? I was looking at getting the PRL intake from Two Step but they inform me this morning that it is out of stock so I am looking at this, which is slightly cheaper. I had initially wanted to go with the K&N but the comments about build quality on here steered me away. I have the Acuity Stage 2 shift kit upgrade ready to go but will delay that until I get an intake since installing the shift kit requires removal of the stock intake anyway....

Unfortunately, I have not received it yet. They said that it was supposed to come back in stock late September, and I have heard nothing. Hopefully soon. I have not canceled the order or anything.

Agree on the chintzy tension clamps. Black tension clamps would also look better. If you're having difficulty finding a good solution in black you could also spray paint them.

I see these clamps on the Murray on their web page but where can they be purchased?

I only see Murray brand stuff on eBay,...

Turbosmart makes a similarly designed clamp. Looks like the diesel goons use them, places like everythingtruckparts.com & swagperformanceparts.com have them. That the coal roll boyz are into this style of clamp probably means they do a good job holding massive boost pressures. Not necessarily needed on the intake side of the turbo but good to know.

Great, thanks. PRL kit has not arrived yet so what size do they need to be?

Installed the aFE intake from Takeda. Took a few months to get. Very happy with fitment, no issues at all within installation, and adds a little more visual interest in the engine bay.

Definitely feel an improvement in throttle response, very noticeable. Inside the cabin, the noise is not a big difference from stock. Under heavy throttle, I can hear the blow off valve in the car, but it’s definitely not super obnoxious.

Got it from two step performance for just over $400.

I would recommend it if you don’t wanna break the bank.

This visually presents better than the PRL, and I think it comes in even cheaper? What advantage would there be to go PRL over this? Availability maybe?

Still crickets on my Infinity Design... oh well, as long as it comes in before spring at this point, because I very likely won't install until then anyway.

Does the Takeda intake have a secondary inlet like the PRL?
That is the difference, this is more like the stock airbox, just with the cone filter exposed. Assuming there's no shortage of air, the inlet pipe, post filter side, is probably the same size as oem or other intakes, so not sure from a functional perspective if the extra air inlet in the PRL would make make any difference other than maybe air temp? Give or take a couple degrees, this honestly may be pretty close to the PRL. If one intake is good for 10hp and another is good for 8hp then no biggie right. I do like the look of the intake for sure.

One thing to note, it was very helpful to have a set of JIS screwdrivers as I had no issue with removing the screws holding on the MAF sensor. (some have reported stripping the screw heads) Also, I was glad that I had a set of torx ratchets as the screws holding on the jet purge thingy were super tight. I couldn't break it loose with my normal torx screwdriver.
