hey, just wanted to throw in a comment on the aFE Takeda intake. Love the look, happy with throttle response, etc.

Downside, threw a P0410 code and this intake may be to blame. Did a quick google search and found a thread on the civic forums documenting the same problem, within a few hundred miles of installing this intake.

Lost crackles and pops, but no other issues. reset with Hondata App, and ultimately had Jestertuned adjust my tune multiple times to fix this and a "rev match disabled" issue. car is running like a champ now.

I will say, some have had these symptoms come up in the past, so it may just be coincidental, but just throwing it out there. Intake buyers beware.

Anybody else have issues shortly after intake install?

Sounds similar to issues I've seen crop up on forums about the GruppeM/Blitz intakes.

Well, we already know this car is super sensitive to losing pops and bangs and rev match anyway....
Essentially, when you start messing with stuff, things tend to come up. At least if you're tuned you can easily make adjustments.

Interesting. I know PRL didn't manufacturer a replacement for the factory plastic section of intake pipe. Altering this prevents CARB certification in California. Maybe there is more to it and changes the metered air flow.
Only solution would be a custom tune.

Could be that. Wondering if anyone else had issues.

I installed my Takeda intake right around the same time you did. Have a couple hundred miles on it so far. No check engine lights or other issues with exhaust yet. I'll update if that changes.

So many folks have had these issues with no
Mods, it’s kinda hard to point the finger at the intake. Could just be coincidental. Although whenever you make a change you have to wonder.

the PRL intake isn't CARB certified in CA though, is it? I don't see anything on it being.

That'd make things a helluvalot easier for me come time for smog.

Don't think it's CARB legal since it should come with a CARB sticker with an EO#
I tried to do some research on PRL to see if it was but no information available which lead me to assume it's not as well. I'm was thinking about getting the takeda intake since it will be quicker to swap back to stock when smog happens but stinger experience is making me a bit iffy on it.

PRL is not carb legal. It's honestly not a hard install or swap when it does come to SMOG in like 5 years. We have these in stock and will be having a nice black friday sale on them.

Install is straightforward except for the part where you put all the hoses together. Goddamn that was such a PITA for me to get it all lined up.

After installing 3 full PRL systems ( Intake box and turbo inlet) , I found that it was way easier to put the box in last ......... Food for thought ........ ;-)
