Acura Integra First sporty/new car! Any advice welcome!! IMG_3686

I went from my LX 2016 Civic that I purchased in high school to this and it’s been a great couple days of ownership.

This is a lot of firsts for me. First new car, first manual, etc. So I was hoping to get any general advice, tips, and whatever guidance yall are willing to provide !

I’m located in San Diego, CA. Looking to get this full ceramic coated soon and windows tinted + potentially front end PPF. Curious about optimal front plate locations and any other info

many thanks and hope to keep this car for a long long time!

great first sporty car and manual.

know that forums are slippery slopes. you'll see a lot of people living and dying by certain mods .. take it all with a grain of salt. just have fun with the car and get to know it really well in totally stock form. if you want to go fast and push it to the "limits," do an autocross or track day with a well known organization. those events are really the best way to enjoy the speed of the car and get to know it safely/legally.

if you're going to mod, remember that you probably will want to un-mod it before you sell it so make sure you are committed prior to those mods. there's a lot you CAN do, doesn't mean you have to.

also, never take advice from random dudes on the forum, including me lol.

I echo this sentiment. I thought I wanted to add more power but took it for a spirited drive for the first time on some backroads and came to the conclusion that I don't actually want more power. It's a great platform. Ultimately, do what you want of course (don't listen to me either - I said I was staying stock and immediately upgraded stuff within the first few months lol).

Save yourself the headache - get front end PPF and ceramic coating. Probably my favorite addition to the car 😂 makes cleaning so much easier.

Hey there. I'm not too far away in Anaheim. I come down to SD quite a bit (for friends and fun). I figured you must be in SD by the awful looking asphalt on your street. I'm always amazed at how that city neglects their streets. Might need a pothole damage fund on reserve. :p Welcome and enjoy the new ride!

What? Those streets look immaculate compared to my area 🤣.

It's currently mandatory to drive through a 2ft x 1ft x 8" pothole in my kids' daycare parking lot. I currently have a 10mm lift and still scrape the lower aero air dam every time... I don't know how the lowered crowd does it!

OP, ppf is definitely worthwhile, but make sure you find someone with a few hundred positive reviews at least. Don't shop the ppf brand, shop the installer. I did full front, a pillars, smoke roof, rockers, all shiny black plastics, and rear valence. I've gone back 6 times for trimming and there are still crappy areas that are fingering and lifting because this car's fascia is very complex. I'm about to drive it down to Texas (12 hrs away) to have someone else redo a lot of sections of it.

For ceramic, it's not worth it unless you do it yourself. You'll pay a pro installer a good chunk of change for something you can do yourself fairly easily. Even if you don't go full fancy 10H ceramic, you can use old school ceramics like opticoat that are easier to work with, easier to remove, and cost 25$ to do 20 cars. The key is prep. Minimum is good iron wash and clay bar, but if you're willing to try polishing you can also get most of the factory/dealer scratches, etching, haze, and oxidation out fairly easily (soft clearcoat).

A good ceramic job is at least $1500 bucks. It’s for sure worth it though if you like to keep a clean car. So if you’re gonna do it, do it asap. Also does California make you put on front plates?
