PRL is supposed to drop next month and could perform better on the top end. List is supposed to be under $500. The FK8 unit is price at $399. Could be a real value if the numbers are right.
Where did you hear next month? Not that I don't believe you. I'm just anticipating the release like a kid for Christmas

Several sources have said it's set for a Spring release, on the CIVICXI forums Two Step said next month. You know how it is with PRL, grain of salt.

On the topic of turbos, what is the preferred turbo these days for more streetable numbers? I know everyone loves the R660, but I was wondering if it makes more sense to do MHI Stage 2 or Kuro if you aren't looking to make much more than 450whp?

I’ve seen Pepo tune an MHI Stage 2 to 500. As my usual lately, I’ll let the pro’s who have had personal experience with these speak for themselves lol Pardon my non-cropping, this is just in my personal ITS photo vault for future reference & poor memory:

We like 2 peas in a pod, mane. 🀣 Corey pretty much nudged me towards the Kuro. Leaves me $500 to spend on something else. πŸ˜„

But your post mentions Kuro in the 400-450 range. Is this correct or are these values swapped with the MHI?

I was surprised to see Unity/Derek was able to hit 429whp with the Kuro on 93 and stock fuel system. Those are crazy numbers given how fuel limited the platform is. I think it's down to Kuro or MHI for me, being in CA being able to retain OEM heatshields and reflash to stock without swapping the turbo will be key. Plus spacing out upgrades instead of doing fuel system at the same time...

It looks like Corey & Humza were anywhere between 420-460 with their Kuro’s & Derek mentioned 400-475. If I’m looking at the different screenshots right. Probably depends on the different supporting mods I would imagine.

I think all these turbos CAN hit 500whp, it's more where they are most efficient and where they will be placing the power under the curve. More importantly is what kind of fuel or meth do they need to run to hit those numbers. I was laughing at Hondata showing dyno charts on Q16.

Absolutely. Humza & Corey said 430-450ish on the Kuro without any fuel upgrades can be done. Turbo kicks in at 2k rpm’s & is a gradual increase to prevent breaking traction. Tune by gear compliments that well also. I think I’ll be happy at that level for a while. At least I sure hope so. πŸ˜„ @Integra23 has the fuel upgrade so he should easily get to higher 4’s/500ish no problem. I agree with your Hondata statement - not sure why they’re so conservative. D-Rob seems to be a better tuner & also much more engaged with the drivers of our platform.

I’m just gonna go PRL HVI. It’ll fit plus Derek mentioned today the Eventuri numbers appeared to fall flat over 450hp & that could interfere with how much you could squeeze out of a turbo upgrade.
Yeah but when are they dropping? Haven’t heard a thing in awhile

True that. Via email PRL told me Jan/Feb. I haven’t heard anything about a preorder coming soon from Corey or Humza & they have given us a few days up to about a week heads up on stuff like that, so I’m simply just hoping sometime by the end of March. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈπŸ€žπŸ½
