Pops and bangs were missing on my car for about a month. Found it strange, no codes or error lights. Then I left my car sitting for a week and when I went back to drive it it wouldn’t start. I had to jump start the battery. I did that twice and then took to the dealer. They replaced the battery for free and they claimed it was defective. Now pops and bangs are back! Super glad about that.

I've noticed if I start in individual mode with sport + on engine sometimes I don't get pops and bangs or verbals of any kind, so I switch to sport + and get them, then switch to individual and they are fine, not sure why or how but so far, 550 miles, has been my experience.
Just curious, you said "start" in individual mode.
Start being the keyword in this post I just wanted to point out the ECU will not allow the engine to retard the timing enough to make the burbles and pops until the engine is fully up in temp. Not sure if that is your issue but good to know.
Also, just side note VTEC will not engage if temp is not up either VIA ECU protection but it doesnt stop people from revving to 6k with a warm engine.

Sounds like your codes were cleared by loss off power, I would have thought they added an eeprom to save codes but why waste the money when code will come right back if indeed it is an issue. You can have a code that does NOT throw CEL as was in my case described in this thread. In the obd1 days that was the only way to clear codes was disconnect the battery.

I checked with an OBD2 scanner and no codes showed. Also disconnected the battery both red and black for a few hours to see if that would help bring the pops back but it did not work. Only till the battery fully died and got replaced then I got the pops and bangs back

Your reader must be able to show pending codes, not just active codes. Might be the reason why you didn't see any codes?

Super silly but when you aren't getting pops check your engine, I notice anything below 4 ticks means I will not get pops on shifts.

O2 cel don't think it correlates to the fill up but shit did happen when I filled up.

it ended up being almost 5 months for me to get the correct TSP downpipe but didnt go with RV6 specifically because of cel.

Still on stock tune. not jailbroken.

headed to dyno in the next hour to get the new results from the DP and FP before installing the PRl HVI this weekend..

for the TSP they have an extension for the second o2 wire harness as the spot on the DP is too far down for the original wiring to reach but the 2nd O2 sensor goes directly into the DP below the cat.
if cel comes up again that connector will be my first place to look.

Will have the full install of DP, FP, RMM and turbo blanket video posted on youtube later this weekend it shows the spots for O2 sensors and the wiring situation.
Watched the recent YT upload, numbers are incredibly impressive!

If i may ask which downpipe blanket did you go with, PRL lists a 3.5" and a 5". Im guessing the 5" is for catted downpipes?

Great work on the install vids keep'em coming!!

After reading about this issue I’ve been paying closer attention to my car and I thought I lost it as well. When I got home though, I opened my door, revved it and could hear the pops - got me second guessing if I just can’t hear it inside the cabin sometimes.

If you can wait, PTP has a hybrid shield like their turbo version being released soon and it keep the heat down even a ton more than the blankets we have.

I recently disconnected the battery for the charge pipes and shifter cable bushing/detent springs install. After all the cel’s left and everything came back I was still missing my exhaust pops and burbles too. I cleared the code with my cheap little code reader and they came back, but still not nearly as aggressive, often, or loud as they were prior. I’ll check tomorrow to see if there’s another code to clear maybe I guess. Would a lingering monitor that I can’t clear also only bring them back but not to full capacity??

Appreciate it, is it this one?

I'll def look into it, not in any immediate rush, did you happen to order via PTP?
I just found it curious that PRL has a brand specific PTP blanket, couldn't figure out for the life of me if there was any difference.

I read that you recently installed the PRL HVI, after installing mine my "pops and burbles" do sound less pronounced versus before, I just assumed it was the increased air flow dynamics altering the sound.

I Would be curious to know if anyone else has this issue.

For reference prior to the HVI install, I had only done the DP and RMM which made the exhaust seem louder to me.

Yes, that’s what the new downpipe blanket will be like! Corey Poole measured some temps and it was over 100° difference to mine. I’ll look it up and post the photo back here when I can find it.

hmmm, that’s a good point. I DID think maybe the intake might’ve had something to do with it but not sure how really at the same time. I did downpipe, front pipe, RMM and it definitely made the car sound better without being annoying too. Lol

My FP should be in sometime this week, which DP did you go with? The RV6 has me clearing codes almost every other day. The supposed fix for my particular issue is to screw the defouler in further, which is why im looking into blankets, cause if I cant turn it while its installed, ive gotta take that bitch out again LOL.

Looks like you did a pretty good systematic job of installing groups of parts that went in together, wish I'd known better LOL.

Found the pics you mentioned in the charge pipes thread, those readings are ridiculous!!

Crazy low temps! I did the TSP downpipe bc I didn’t wanna mess with cel and defouler stuff.

I don’t know about systematic. Lol just went by their recommendations and bank account sorta in the right direction anyway. 😆

Thanks, Actually just posted the video in another thread..
https://www.integraforums.com/forum...-tsp-catted-downpipe-and-prl-frontpipe.52208/

Yes DP blanket is the 5" and will only work on aftermarket DP's.
I ordered both my turbo and downpipe lava blanket directly from PTP. they were super cool even overnighted springs for the turbo blanket since it didn't show as an option when I ordered on their website.

UPDATE: I now have close to 200 miles since I cleared code and it has not returned..
